For context I'm a married 60 year old man who retired 2 years ago.

Whilst working I self invested on a low cost platform. The size of the portfolio didn't warrant professional advice in my opinion but at age 58 I was offered voluntary redundancy which realised a substantial redundancy payment further enhanced by the tax free sum from my DB pension.
