I attended Victoria Counselling to undertake my Diploma and am so glad I did. The tutors have been exceptionally supportive, and there is such a friendly and collaborative ethos. VCTS was highly recommended to me by qualified counsellors who either trained there or have colleagues who did, and I can see why it has the outstanding reputation it does. Having completed some of my studies with other providers, I can say my only regret is not going to Victoria from the very start.

I have studied at VCTS for some years now completing the skills course, Diploma and now completing the practitioner course. I cannot say enough about this training centre about the support I received from Pauline and Ky. I was not an academic person and worried about the work but, that was very quickly sorted out just by talking to Ky and Pauline. The course work is so interesting and diverse looking at so many theories I have loved every minute of time I spend here. I have made life long friends and have meet some amazing counsellors where experience is shared. Not only do you embark on a professional accreditation but a personal journey that money cannot buy. The courses are well priced and definitely value for money once you study here you become part of a community that will set you up for success.

I'm doing my diploma in therapeutic counselling here. I had four offers to study and chose Victoria counselling following very high peer recommendation. I've not been disappointed. I find it an emmersive learning environment and like that the course has a blended approach. My qualification will be NCPS accredited and it's an easy process to get BCPS accreditation post completion. The property is dated. I find it charming, anf the tutors excellent.
Many of the tutors are ex graduates. I know of at least two who qualified with Victoria who now work at the Priory Chemsford.

Having completed two levels of courses at the Victoria Counselling and Training Services (VCTS) in 2013, I have enjoyed immediate placement at the local charity project DOVE - who hold VCTS in very high regard. Thanks to the high quality of course content and teaching method, I found myself well equipped to embark on a practising journey of counselling, which was something I had no prior experience of.

My tutor was very knowledgeable and supportive. Learning at VCTS was so enjoyable; it inspired me not only to practice working with clients but also gave me a solid knowledge base and confidence to continue further studies on BPS accredited studies.

Some people get distracted by the interior of the building, but the quality of these courses is so invaluable, quite frankly I would sit in a cave if that was where these were taught.

The result of my latest psychology degree module was a Distinction, something I could never have imagined achieving if it wasn't for the VCTS courses. I am forever grateful to David and Pauline for making my success today possible by creating a unique gem of a course/training program. Highly recommended!

Iv done all of my counselling training at VCTS, from the certificate in counselling skills upto the Level 5.

All the tutors have been amazing, they are highly experienced in their field. I was given the skills to be an ethical and skilled counsellor/ therapist.

I have also come to realise how lucky I was to find VCTS as other courses offered in my area offer no where near what VCTS offers, most only offering Humanistic.

The VCTS level 4 course is Integrative and now newly NCPS accredited.

The level 4 course run by Liz Jarman not only equipped me to self develop emotionally but importantly taught me how to counsel Psychodynamic/ TA, CBT, Humanistic, Bradshaw’s Inner Child work and Mindfulness with clients.

Due to Victoria’s Courses being held in such high regard, I gained my clinical placements at Changing Pathway’s; Women’s aid and Basildon Mind. This then led me to work for Renew, a local secondary school and conduct private work for many organisations such as local counsels and social care sectors. I now run a successful counselling practice full time. Non of this would have been possible without my training at Victoria.

The level 5 Diploma taught by Pauline and David Shepherd & Ky Harkins allowed me to raise my CBT knowledge to treat Anxiety Disorders and a wealth of skills to treat the spectrum of mental health conditions.

An absolutely amazing experience and I will be forever grateful. Thank-you so much to Pauline, David and Ky 🙏

I have been a student at Victoria counselling services as well as a client and I have always received the most professional service. I have read the previous reviews regarding the building etc and it may not have the most up to date furnishings and the building is old however that has no reflection on the services they provide, I would have no hesitation to recommend Pauline and David in regards to the training they provide (at a very reasonable rate) or their counselling services.
