Dave and his team have been fantastic. We had an ongoing planning issue that we needed help with and Dave was so knowledgeable and professional. He sorted the whole thing with the council on our behalf and within a very tight deadline.

Thanks to David and Paul at DSB, our house is the most modern house in the street. Paul had to go through multiple design proposals with the council, as the original design was rejected saying it's too contemporary. He was very patient and happy to make amendments.
The plans produced were very detailed. The builder was very impressed with the plans and he was able to easily follow it. We did not get any objections or concerns from building control inspections either.
Just like good food takes time to prepare, good designs also takes time. It look over 6 months for the full process which includes the lead time for both stages and the lead times at council and building control. I would recommend DSB if you prefer quality over quick results.

When it comes to any building work, finding companies that you can trust is becoming more and more difficult. The reality is that unless you’ve completed a building project before, chances are that you’re going to need some help to have a successful outcome. DSB were able to describe and discuss my requirements in the right level of detail to help us make educated decisions on our build. Would I use DSB? Well, put it this way, I wouldn’t use anybody else!
Friends and colleagues advised me to get the planning right “first” time, otherwise I’d be in for stress on another level. I therefore began searching for a reputable company to assist with the project. DSB were suggested to me, but I was initially sceptical as they say that you should “never do business with friends or family”. As it turns out, the owner of DSB is actually both, so it’s with full disclosure that I write this review.
I have very high standards (maybe too high at times), so I was always going to be over critical of every little aspect of the build, however the final outcome is better than I anticipated.
DSB understand building regulations like no other and with their smart thinking and experience are able to offer solutions and ideas that you’d simply never have thought of yourself.
Whilst monitoring the planning progress with our local council I came across other planning submissions and could not believe just how superior the drawings were from DSB, this confirmed very early on that I’d made the right decision to use DSB. Whilst the internal work continues the exterior is largely complete (example in attached photo).

I was recommended DSB Property Designs by a family friend who had used their services. What I can say from my experience was that the advice, support from original design to sending the application to the council for permission was 1st class. At all points of the process we were kept in the loop and updated. I am pleased to say that our loft extension was finally granted permission today . I used David at DSB Designs for an extensive remodel of a bungalow to a 5bedroom house. His mm perfect survey enabled us to understand exactly how it'd look on the plot. His consideration to show neighbouring plots ridgelines, helped achieve planning.

The subsequent Buildings Regs drawings he produced were highly technical, this meant we could obtain accurate like-for-like quotes from builders and save us money. Thank you DSB Designs, will 100% recommend.

Dave is a very Professional and helpful architect, who helped us to get our planning permission approved from the council. He helped us and guided us every step of the way and the office admin were very polite as well. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, and you can 100% rely on him to do your planning works and I will be reccomending him to more people. I would say Dave is the best Architect in Southend-on-Sea 10/10.

Dave was very professional and completed a full survey then got working on the initial designs .
He came back with exactly what we had asked for . He helped us get our application through which was hard work due to the local authority but with Dave’s advise it went through . Drawings are top notch with every detail taken into account .
I highly recommend Dave and his team to anybody who wants professional , top quality service .
