I found Prokil completely by accident after searching the minefield of the damp-proofing world! This was following years of uncertainty around what exactly needed to be done in my flat to sort the damp issues, obtaining numerous quotes with varied advice.

Would not recommend. We had so many issues with this company, the main one being that when doing the damp proofing, the plasterer forgot to put the cables back into the wall and they were left hanging out from the top. They blamed it on our plumber (unrelated tradesperson who happened to be in the house), saying he told them to do that… ridiculous. When we checked with him he clarified he’d told them to contact us if unsure of anything, which they didn’t do. They were obviously completely unqualified and panicked about what to do once they’d made a mistake. We returned to the house after being away to plaster covered cables hanging from the ceiling and no message to explain what had happened.

After a lot of back and forth, they agreed to come back to correct the mistake but the resulting plastering was awful and the completely uneven finish ruined the wall. We spent hours sanding it down to paint as we’d had enough at this point, but instead of offering us a discount when it came to the invoice, they insisted we pay full price and they’d return to re plaster and re paint to fix the issue. They did this finally to a good enough job, but then a few weeks later when needing to drill something into the wall we discovered they’d actually done plasterboard instead of replastering on the original wall like they should have. As a result, we can’t fix shelves to the wall at all like we had planned to all along.

Really shady company, no care to do a thorough job and we’ve wasted weeks dealing with it, all with no discount like you’d expect them to offer in this situation. I won’t even go into the other issues such as damage to the coving, incorrect invoices overcharging us etc, the list is endless.

Really happy with the recent work from Prokil. We had some issues with the raising damp on the ground floor, which affected three walls. After an initial investigation, they decided to apply water proof membrane. The whole job took three days, the guys very professional, on time, tidy and tried to keep the noise levels to the minimum. Very happy, would highly recommend.

Prokil came to our property initially in December 2020 for dry rot treatment and damp proofing of our bathroom. During the initial inspection Simon was very thorough and put our minds at ease. He also liaised with our bathroom company throughout to ensure everything ran smoothly and to plan. The workmen were efficient and professional. Recently, a bathroom installer damaged the damp proof membrane. Simon attended to assess the damage and within 24hrs the whole area had been fixed by Prokil. We highly recommended Prokil, and thank Simon for his hard work.

I had damp on the lower walls of my home. The team turned up at the agreed time told me what they would be doing, then showed me during the work what the problem was.
