Leslie and his team have recently completed a lime bag rub finish on my house. I couldn’t be happier with the finish, it looks absolutely beautiful. The process has been seamless. From quote to finish it has been so easy working with Leslie. He is efficient, reliable, organised, tidy, respectful, fair…the list goes on!! I have worked with a LOT of trades people and this has by far been my best experience. The process has been totally stress free and I’m really happy with the outcome (he clearly knows his stuff on this topic!). Leslie is already booked in later this year to paint the house with specialist lime paint and I’ve no doubt that, for any further works, Leslie will be the first person I call! Thank you Leslie!

We had been concerned about the front wall of our 1907 cottage for some time as the render was badly cracked and consequently very damp. We contacted Leslie Cornell Building Restoration Ltd as they came highly recommended by local builders as the best people to do the job properly, and so we found. Leslie's initial site visit was very prompt and informative, as was his communication throughout the project.
Leslie's excellent team made many visits, first to remove the old cement-based render and then to apply three coats of a new lime render before finally painting. During the course of the works it was found that two window lintels would need replacing and the porch fascia and guttering renovated. All this was done to a high standard and at a fair price, and the team were unfailingly polite, friendly and professional, always clearing up beautifully at the end of a visit.
We are truly delighted with the outcome and three neighbours have already asked for Leslie's details as they are so impressed!

We engaged the services of Leslie Cornell Building Restoration to remove all the cement-based pointing on the exterior stone wall of our Grade II Listed Building, and replace it with the proper lime-based mortar. We received bids from an assortment of builders, contractors and tradesmen and, although the pricing was generally very similar from everyone, the level of expertise & knowledge about the work-at-hand was anything but similar.

Prior to consulting with Leslie, I have to confess to being *that* person who honestly believed that, "Surely it can't be all that complex to remove the cement and re-point with a lime-based mortar." And, to be fair, that's why I'm not a builder. However, the worrying thing is that, with the exception of Leslie, all the other contractors we spoke to were also just as quick to talk about this project in terms of something that didn't require any thought or special treatment. It was the unmistakable expertise of Leslie, and his clear knowledge & understanding of both the materials and the process that made it a no-brainer to go with him (even though it meant having to wait to get on his schedule).

His understanding of what's needed to restore the fabric of your building, and the techniques he uses to ensure it's all done correctly, is what will set him apart from the other people you get bids from (and this will be clear to you from the very first time that Leslie comes to review the project). Moreover, it's also clear that these expertise have been (and are being) passed along & shared with all the lads that work on his team.

As a result, we ended up with a finished project that's not just cosmetically appealing, but that is also structurally sound, fit-for-purpose and will stand the test of weather & time.

Leslie and his team provide a first rate service. Their restoration and building work is excellent. They repointed our house with lime mortar and it looks incredible. They also installed metal restraints and supports to tie in an exterior wall. Inside they have created beautiful lime plastered walls around fireplaces and other features. Quotes are always provided along with any advice needed.
