Thank you for your comment Wayne. You are correct that our website did say that we offer “Family Mediation” which was a mistake. We have replaced this phrase with “Mediation for Family Disputes”. Family Mediation is now understood by many to be the legal term to mean offering a Mediation Information & Assessment Meeting (MIAM) which our service cannot provide. As you are no doubt aware, before you can make an application to take your case to court, the law says that you must consider whether mediation can help you by attending a Mediation Information Assessment Meeting (MIAM).
We do offer other mediation services to families, in particular mediation for intergenerational disputes and child access cases.
