Wonderfully, clean, bright hospital where you are treated like a human being. The staff are very caring and kind from the reception desk, catering staff and clinician’s.

Set in beautiful surroundings and in the heart of Kent countryside, surrounded by fields.

This hospital is well worth joining. I have been a member with members of my family for about 30 years and it has really been worth the monthly fee charged.

I am very thankful to have received such excellent care from my initial consultation to the day of surgery. Thank you to Mr Chipperfield for performing a full knee replacement, the nursing staff for ensuring my comfort and physio for aiding recovery, you have all been first class. Every time I attended an appointment staff are efficient and polite, the hospital was clean and as a patient, I was made to feel at ease. Thank you all for your own expertise which made the experience so streamlined.

I called Beneden this morning hoping to secure an appointment following an NHS referral to see a dermatologist due to concerns about potential skin cancer. The process I went through was utterly ridiculous and, frankly, shocking. To obtain the referral, I had to navigate a triage system and divulge sensitive information over the phone to an attendant—information I felt should only be shared with a qualified health professional; information such the location of the issue.

As I began to feel increasingly uncomfortable with the questions, the operator informed me that the service would be conducted remotely. This meant they would send me a kit to take a high-resolution photo of my skin condition, which would then be forwarded to BUPA for assessment.

I am appalled by this treatment. How can Beneden put their clients in such a vulnerable and embarrassing position in sharing their health conditions? The law is clear: The Health and Care Act 2022 provided with strict safeguards to ensure patient confidentiality remains a priority.

This change is against the law and I will investigate the matter further. May they’re prioritising self-paying clients while ditching those of us who rely on NHS referrals to reach a private treatment. This is not just disappointing—it’s disgraceful. Beneden should be ashamed of their new approach to patient care.

I recently attended a consultation with Mr Chipperfield at Benenden Hospital. All the reception staff I dealt with were fantastic, and it was a very easy simple process through to consultation. My consultation was brilliant - reassuring, supportive and got put forward for a referral for MRI to further investigate quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed with the quality of the service, and the high standard evident at the hospital.

He and his whole team made me feel so relaxed and the care I received afterwards from the nurses, physio and catering team was just top rate. My recovery has been very good. I was seen quickly and promptly from first contacting the Benenden team. I can't fault the service I was given at all. Thank you❤️

I have been very lucky to receive two knee replacements at Benenden Hospital within the last year.
From the initial consultations to the surgery my treatment has been second to none.

The consultations on both occasions were so reassuring as to the procedures and "postoperative care".

On the days of surgery everything was explained so well, from the reception, the journey to the operation theatre, the recovery,the wonderful nursing,the Physio guys and the catering I was looked after so well.

The surgery that I received was for knee replacements and the results have been great.
Both Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons Mr Reddy and Mr Chipperfield were brilliant.

I would highly recommend them and Benenden Hospital.

Lovely spacious and clean hospital, however, I somehow managed to get an nhs referral to this private hospital, 2.5 years I waited to see a gastro specialist. They asked me to do a breath test that you can’t take antibiotics a month before(I had to have a course of antibiotics for an ear infection so was unable to do the test which I explained to the clinician when I saw him and explained i will still need to do that test-he appeared to understand this)but he agreed from the symptoms I mentioned it is very likely to be sibo and that treatment is “cyclical courses of tetracycline, 2 weeks on, two weeks off” . he recommended probiotics and issued an mri of my stomach). A letter was sent to me for a follow up phone call in 6 weeks. The summary of the appointment was sent to me but mentioned nothing of the antibiotic treatment he mentioned. I explained to the secretary I need the letter to actually state this for my gp to be able to issue correct medication, they then denied the clinician had ever said this. My follow up call never came so I rang them, they told me the mri was normal so my file had been closed. So I am now left still in excruciating pain everyday, no way of now doing the test I still need to do, and no referral to dietician that he said he would do. 2.5 years I waited for absolutely nothing. His secretary was also very patronising, condescending and rude

Two follow up appointments cancelled for a surgery I had in March. One on the day of the appointment and one with 4 days notice when appointment has been booked for months. Been a paying member of Benenden for years and sadly it is really going downhill. Quite disappointed really and starting to have less and less confidence with this service. We are considering cancelling our membership.
