I wanted take my time to write about essential teaching as my journey has been far from smooth.
In February 2017 I was quite frankly rescued by Gavin! I was struggling completely with another provider and saw my teaching career becoming far from achievable.
Gavin took his time to listen to my story through the tears and anger, he assured me he would be able to help me complete my journey with the support I required. I was rather dubious as we were over 100 miles apart but I heard an honesty in his voice I had not experienced before so I decided to take the plunge and join his course. With his support I worked tirelessly to complete the work and so did he to mark and return it. I had to take a few breaks due to personal circumstances but seven months later I received my DET with eight teaching observations three at outstanding.
I now run my own class with confidence and a level of professionalism I gained through the teachings of Gavin.
I have recommended a number of my friends to Gavin and he has welcomed them with open arms and treated us all as individuals. Gavin has a passion and dedication to see his learners succeed to which I challenge you to find better elsewhere.

Who would have thought...62 years old and completed the level 3 Award in Education and Training during lockdown. All thanks to the excellent tuition, support and encouragement from Gavin Lumsden at Essential Teaching UK. Having been a long time away from school and exams I have no doubt I must have been a ‘trying’ student at times, but you wouldn’t have known it as Gavin looked after me and treated me the same as the youngsters on the course. Gavin gave me the confidence to continue my personal development and hopefully go on to be a Security trainer. Although somewhat apprehensive about starting the course, it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gavin and the team at Essential Teaching UK 💯 % to anyone, of any age, looking to achieve a teaching qualification. Thanks again Gavin.

I have just completed the classroom teaching element of an AET level 3 course. I can't recommend the course and trainers enough. It was a fun and informal learning environment. Gavin and Stephen were both supportive and understanding of our needs and requirements. Definitely deserve 5 stars! (and a Lego duck)
