My brother suddenly passed away. I did not know what to do or who to turn to for help. Heritage was recommended to me. I contacted them. My brother did not have a Will. Heritage took over the whole process. Probate took a long time.
Whilst Heritage were dealing with the estate, my other brother suddenly passed away. Again there was no Will.
Heritage once again took control. They were dealing with both brother's estates at the same time. I donated some of the estate to charity, Heritage advised and dealt with all the legal and tax implications. Probate once again took along time.
Heritage were very professional and kept me informed of the situation with both estates.
I would thoroughly recommend them. It was a difficult time for me and they handled everything.
I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and advice.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

I've used Heritage for will writing and document storage for around 17 years. A couple of years ago I called them to pay my annual document storage fee of £30. After the phone call ended I received an email confirmation from them which said they were trying to take approximately £8000 - £9000 from my bank account! I only owed them £30! Luckily I opened the email straightaway and I noticed this. I called them back immediately in a complete panic to try and prevent this transaction going through and causing issues with my bank. They admitted they made a mistake and managed to cancel the payment request (only because I had noticed it in time).

Fast forward a couple of years to now, I received my annual document storage fee invoice for £30 for this year, put it to one side, and genuinely forgot about it due to being busy with stressful life circumstances. If I've ever missed an odd invoice before, they've just sent me a polite reminder and I've paid it straightaway. Life happens! However this year was a different story. Instead of sending me a polite reminder to pay the £30, I received a blunt letter telling me I owed £60 (£30 for this year, and £30 from a previous year). That previous year's payment that they have suddenly alleged that I owed was from a couple of years ago where I phoned them to pay the £30 but they had to cancel the payment due to their error of trying to take £9000 from me. Given that they caused me a huge deal of stress and panic in trying to take thousands of pounds from me that I clearly didn't owe, any reasonable person would assume that Heritage would have waived the £30 storage fee for that year, and they certainly haven't tried to ask for that payment in the last couple of years either! They also didn't ask for the "missed" £30 payment when they issued this year's invoice to me. First I heard of it was when I received this blunt letter from them recently saying I owe £60, not £30. Oh, and they are now also threatening to withhold my legal documents from me or to charge me a release fee for them. 17 years of being a loyal customer to them clearly means nothing! If you're looking to have a will written, or some legal documents stored, seriously, go somewhere else. Go somewhere that will deal with matters with empathy and won't try to take thousands of pounds from you in error.

Details of the changes to our wills was fully discussed and explained where we were unclear. Aspects of legacies that we had not considered were brought to our attention and explained. Very happy with the way it has all been handled.

AVOID i have never dealt with such a disrespectful company in my whole entire life, like all the previous reviews say AVOID, unfortunatly my late dad chose this company to deal with his will and ever since i set foot in there office over a year ago thay have been nothing but judgemental and caused chaos in my family which is still ongoing, when you try and contact them thay do everything and anything to either not respond (even though your being charged) and if thay do respond thay cant get any information correct and spread lies amongst families at one of the hardest times possible, thay couldnt care less about someone in a family dying thay care about money and money only, there is no “ sorry for your loss” because ofcourse they are not sorry infact thay are glad for people dying as it keeps there buisness running as i dont know what else would keep a buisness like this running! even though thay are making thousands of pounds out of dragging there heels when dealing with peoples wills as and when it suits them and noone else, the day my dads house sold the solisitor said shes off on holiday, and ofcourse there was then another month or so delay on a straight forward will and excuse after excuse on getting anything mooving forward so we can moove on with our lifes more heels dragged to make them more and money, i could go on and on but i think with the other reviews i have read there is no need it speaks for itself just awful!
