Laura trades under 2 trading names. She completed a capital gains return for me last year & charged me £500. She retained all my receipts & is now asking for a £250 admin fee to return them as she said this includes hours of wasted time she spent preparing a self assessment. The self assessment was only to add some interest I’ve received from the bank so not a big job & hasn’t been completed anyway despite months of chasing this up. I’ve contacted HMRC myself & they said it doesn’t need to be completed.I do know of one of Laura clients who has received a fine that is now £1900 due to a late tax return by her so with this on my mind I said I’d do it myself & then the threats started. Laura’s correspondence address is a self storage unit so any correspondence sent can be ignored as there’s no way of her signing for it. She is ignoring my emails. She has threatened to report me to HMRC as she said I am not a professional & it is her job as a trained professional to report her concerns. With starting fee’s of £450 for a simple self assessment I would seriously question value for money. If you are using her services I strongly recommend that you keep hold of all your receipts & get everything put in writing and this will avoid a lot of future stress. There are some really good accountancy services out there but I would definitely say this isn’t one of them in my experience anyway.

Laura is brilliant! I have used her for my last 3 tax returns and I can’t rate her highly enough. I have a rental property and attempted to do the first tax return myself - I really struggled - to be honest I didn’t really understand the form and ended up with quite a sizeable tax bill.
