Avoid this outfit. They are incredibly slow to do anything and do not resond when chased up to be asked what is happening. They took over 2 weeks to give the file to someone on a basic conveyance and then after that if we could get through to somebody it is a different person each time. They are not interested in the client's requirements and not bothered if their delays cause the transaction to fall through which in this case it may well. Please read the other more recent reviews here and on on trust pilot. I would not even give them 1 star if that were possible.

⭐ 1/5 - Extremely Poor Service & Communication

I had a highly disappointing experience with My Law Matters during my property purchase. Despite being promised clear timelines, my transaction was significantly delayed, with little to no proactive updates. I had to chase them repeatedly for responses, often receiving vague, unhelpful replies. Even after all enquiries were resolved, they failed to progress my purchase for weeks, causing unnecessary stress and frustration.

Basic tasks like handling fixtures and fittings requests were mismanaged, and their overall lack of urgency made the process much more difficult than it needed to be. Their customer service was poor, and they did not take accountability when I raised a formal complaint.

I would not recommend My Law Matters if you value efficiency, communication, and professionalism. Avoid if you want a smooth conveyancing process!

I am still waiting on the results of a will search from October 2024. No reply to any emails, no phone calls returned. I have even written to the Head of Operations, Archana Jethwa and had no reply or acknowledgement of my email. Unprofessional and useless in my opinion. Phoning them takes 20 minutes to be put through to anyone and even then no one knows what to do with my query. Frustrated and angry and unable to progress in seeking probate.

I beg anyone not to use this company.
Unless you want illness , stress and tears.
Nearly 8 months to complete on a new build property no chain etc. Fentimans held us up every step of the way. Resulting us having to pull out due to them not sticking to dates . They are now trying to charge us a bill even though we already paid £600 to them which we’ve lost.
The director is rude and not helpful in the slightest. Do not use ! Please

4 months of trying to purchase a garage, for cash! 3 months of chasing the assigned solicitor for any information only to get answers that they were still waiting for something, and waiting. Days of no answer. Informal complaint - no reaction. Formal complaint (via email) - no reaction. Asked for a refund as no service was provided - no answer, no refund. Terrible customer service.

Do not use this firm. I experienced rudeness, a lack of customer care, interest, a very rude and patronising tone with phone calls ignored from me on many occasions and only answered to my husband. If you phone the main help desk and sit in a long queue for vast amounts of time leading to 5pm you are cut off without them responding to those still remaining in the queue. The solicitor we had was in training days leading up to our completion delaying responses when people were obviously anxious within the chain.

Nearly 4 weeks after accepting the quote with my Law Matters. The Conveyancer contacted us 4 LATER for the documents required before engaging in the matter! The Problem with those offering comparison websites (My Law Matters) you do not know the name of the actual solicitor until you are already 50% paid up. Update 3 months after engaging Fentimans Solicitors they are asking for information that was provided in April 2024. I am not sure if this is incompetence or a deliberate tactic to delay the Legal Completion of the Purchase

I used My Law Matters (Fentiman Legal) as my solicitors during the purchase of my property. The process was marred with issues, poor communication, and unprofessionalism, topped off by an unhelpful and unapologetic complaints procedure. Avoid at all costs.

The complaints I raised with My Law Matters are as follows. All were deemed acceptable within the standards of the firm and thus no apology or compensation was offered. I've left the same list of complaints here for you to decide if this is the standard of service you would like to pay for.

1. My solicitor went on holiday during the process, and I was never informed, nor assured as to whether or not progress could be made on my case. I found out my solicitor was missing after talking to the estate agent of the property, who had complained of the process of purchasing slowing.

2. The contract for the sale of the property was riddled with errors when sent to me. My name written incorrectly, my address was incorrect - this was still incorrect after the first amendment, the price of the property was incorrect. After I pointed out the errors, I was asked to sign the contract anyway, and trust that my solicitor would amend the contract when it arrived. This was because the solicitors did not know how to change the PDF format document.

3. On the date set for completion, I was not contacted and told that the lender was not prepared to release funds. It was only after reaching out directly that I learnt of the issue. The lender was not prepared to release funds because of a change in the source of deposit. This change in the source of deposit was discussed over email with my solicitor three weeks prior to this date, and I decided to do so only on the recommendation that it would not complicate the process of purchase. Despite this, it meant that completion could not occur on the agreed upon date.

4. I never once was able to speak to my solicitor Ranjit Bhogal over the phone, despite calling the office on 14 separate occasions. Every time I was given an excuse such as 'in a meeting with clients / away from his desk / working on the matter at hand'.

5. The online progress tracker was rarely updated in a timely fashion and updates on progress had to be forced out over the phone. I was rarely ever contacted directly with updates of progress or issues encountered.

6. I was often assured that the documents I provided upon request were satisfactory, only to then receive further requests weeks after, causing more delays.

7. I have never received a direct and sincere apology at any stage for any for the meagre services provided, and the serious delays the were incurred at the responsibility of Fentiman Legal (My Law Matters).

The complaints procedure that I then followed was defensive, dismissive, and unhelpful.

My Law Matters were the source of all stresses during the process of buying and I now actively tell anyone I meet looking to buy to avoid them like the plague.
