Wow what a lovely place to have a cosy meal with family! I love the range of options on the menu and the food is all presented so well and tastes amazing. The service is top notch too, with knowledgeable and friendly staff and it’s all reasonably priced. It’s my first time trying this place but I’ll definitely be back. I would recommend the Nduja Scotch Egg for starter and the duck for the main.. but all is lovely.

Exceptional… All the food was perfectly cooked, fresh and if excelkent quality. The service was very professional and not inteusive. Dave (owner) casually walked around to make sure all diners were happy with their food. A nice little bonus at the end was a chat with the Chefs who were really enthusiatic about their work. We would highly recommend the Calamari, Baked Monkfish and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. You will not be disappointed.

This restaurant has just moved to different owners. Have been here before and was keen to take my partner with me as was good. Well the service was so slow except for a new waitress named Jackie who was lovely. The starters were great and that’s where it ends. We ordered lamb duo which turned out to be lamb solo as half the dish was missing and no potatoes as ordered. Also ordered the linguine which tasted like spaghetti in water Absolutely no flavour. The new manager came to see us and was apologetic it then had a couldn’t care less attitude. But to top it all when leaving he said I hope you come back we said I hope so too just a shame about the chef. He said he’s amazing and my partner said shame the food wasn’t. He then replied to our amazement “maybe you shouldn’t come back then.” I was absolutely shocked. So do not go here. So disappointed. Also the toilets are like a sauna so if you do decide to brave this bazaar experience where a bathing suit.

This is what a country pub is supposed to be like. The treatment from all the staff and the owner, Dave, has been perfect from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left. The atmosphere and care from the staff has been second to none. Dave the owner, along with his two beautiful, well behaved, toy poodle dogs, has been the consummate host; where he has been so attentive to every whim and wish including seating location, music and more. The Sunday Roast has been the best roast we have had and we have tried many pubs all over London and Essex. This place is an absolute gem and a must visit. We will definitely be coming back, in fact we all (party of 10) loved every moments we spent here. Thank you for such an amazing Sunday with the family.

After reading the reviews, some poor, which I really must say after going today I cannot see how this place warrants the bad reviews! Don't let them put you off! The food was superb, Sunday roast was outstanding, tasty and plenty off, good value too! The staff, the manager the ambience was outstanding they made us feel so welcome! Had fantastic Sunday afternoon lunch with the family! We will be back very soon! Get yourselves down there you won't be disappointed! 10/10!

Excellent decor, good ambience and super service. Rather large portions - not a criticism - and a decent selection of vegetarian starters. Lucky for us they serve food all day: fabulous!

I rarely write reviews but my experience has been so bad that I feel compelled to warn others.
The William B used to be a favourite establishment but has drastically gone down hill since the new owner.
The service, food quality and detail do not match the increased price point.

Owners dogs running around and barking in the restaurant is not appropriate.
The barking startled one of our party who dropped their drink over themselves and had to leave early as they were soaked through.

No steak knives for the steaks.

Some of our table sent food back as it was cold.
Food was returned to us with half the dish missing. Parts of the meal missing from others dinners.

No apology from the owner or acknowledgment of the incorrect food. Instead our party were accused of trying to ‘get a free meal’.

When we asked for salt and pepper for the table the owner told us that they don’t provide it as guests over season their food but if we wanted it then someone would be brought over.

Staff arguing, waitress close to tears.

Arrogant and condescending owner. I have worked in restaurants myself and have never been so appalled at the manner in which the owner has behaved.

No wonder the rest of the staff were close to breaking point.

Sadly we shall never return to what was once of our favourite local restaurants.

Awful night, a fish restaurant that ran out of cod, bad service blamed on the staff by the owner, drinks and food wait was much too long, both wrong when they arrived.
Lots of unhappy customers, many demanding money back, we were there 4 hours for main meal and dessert.
May give it another chance once established as owner is new and only been there a few weeks
