Thank you so much Solent Partners (Nicky Smith) for inviting me to the Bid Writing Workshop last Friday.

It was a really useful experience and I learnt so much from it, and it has given me the confidence to consider applying for a tender in the future (although, I'd always prefer to work in a partnership).

The presenters, Philip Norman and Karl Wellstead - what clever, innovative and creative people; plus so very knowledgeable about their subject: they just knew their stuff and you came away thinking "they're the people I would love to work alongside." Laughter and interaction occurred throughout the workshop; who knew I learn so much about Spinach and/or Haggis flavoured ice cream!

A big thank you as well to the catering team at the venue; the GF food options (in particular the cheese twists) and coffee was probably the best I’ve had at an event such as this.

Highly recommended and well deserving of every 5 * received...

While running a business, I crafted many proposals and some of them were successful. Experience has told me to avoid competitive tenders because of the amount of work involved and low hit rate.

Attending the workshop, run by Phil and Karl, stopped me in my tracks and caused me to reconsider my attitude towards public competitive tenders.

I came away feeling like I'd been given a superpower. Bestowing the powers of X-ray vision and teleportation, unfortunately, are outside of the capabilities of Winning Tenders - but this workshop has certainly emboldened me.

I value, and will use, the provided resources, including the slide deck. Most valuable, however, are the real-world insights gained from spending a day with Phil and Karl as they shared experiences as public procurement manager and commercial bid manager respectively.

The workshop was sponsored by Solent Partners and was attended by organisations from commercial, social enterprise and creative arts sectors. It finished with an entertaining practical exercise which reinforced the learning. Highly recommended - a memorable day which flew by.

Emma from Winning Tenders outreached to me to invite me to their Thinking about Bidding for Public Sector Contracts Workshop. The program and level of information were just what I needed as a Practice Manager of a small architecture firm to start getting my team and practice ready for the complex journey of getting onto public tenders and how best to find opportunities as well as the approach to bids. Emma also went above and beyond with a check-in call after the workshop to make sure I had all of my questions answered. Highly recommend this to anyone interested in getting involved in framework projects but don't know where to start.

Attended the procurement training session and was lucky enough to attend on a quiet day and have ample time for questions which were thoroughly answered. The session was invaluable, I would highly recommend for anyone who is starting out applying for tenders, but even those who have been doing this for a long time. An excellent combination of suggestions both in terms of the nitty-gritty writing aspect, but also wider aspects to procurement strategy which honestly I was not expecting but gave me lots of food for thought. Look forward to attending other sessions when they come up. Thank you!

It has been a real joy to work with Phil, Emma, Karl, and all of the team at Winning Tenders.
As an SME, concentrating on tendering for contracted business, I have found there knowledge of not just the tendering process, but the added value they offer post award to be invaluable.
