I have attended both the mediator and conflict coaching training courses with CAOS Conflict Management. The training is in my opinion excellent. The approach is very thorough, informative and interactive and Alan Sharland is extremely knowledgeable and brings his wealth of experience to the courses.
The principles and philosophy of CAOS are embedded in the training and meant that I felt I could "walk the talk" immediately.
I would thoroughly reccommend the course to anyone who wants to learn more effective communication, either for themselves or to help clients, colleagues or customers and become a mediator or conflict coach.

I would highly recommend this training course run by Alan to anyone wishing to train as a Conflict Coach. For me this was more than just a training course. It involved much self reflection and open-mindedness and I felt inspired and energised throughout. What struck me most was the utter simplicity of the technique and then how very challenging that is to put into practise. I felt I was unlearning certain habits or methods I had previously used, as well adding new skills to my tool box along the way. Alan is an inspiring teacher. The way he runs the sessions is so natural and relaxed whilst at the same time packed with information, examples, exercises, discussion and challenges to yourself. If you're thinking about doing this training, just do it! You'll be pleased you did.

The course was explained well, and easy to follow. The mediation model is one that makes a lot of sense and is able to be used in many different situations. It was really helpful that people that have trained previously were able to attend to add input and different views, opinions and their experiences. The course tutor was very understanding, and was able to pick up on things, and explain them and is also looking for ways to genuinely improve. I would recommend the course. 🙂

I attended the mediation skills and conflict coaching courses earlier this year, and am pleased to share something of my opinion and experience. I have no personal interest in the business of this organisation; and no close association with any of its directors, employees or associates.

One of the strengths of the training, which drew me to sign up for the courses, is the quality of the set of ideas -6 philosophies, 9 principles, 3 core skills- that inform it. It is easy to understand the model, but learning to apply it brought me to appreciate its depth and the rigour involved. I remember, for example, struggling to maintain awareness of a tendency to use closed questions and other ways of trying to 'control' an interaction. This was a very helpful personal insight.

Next, I'd highlight the quality of the lead trainer, Alan Sharland. He has a lot of experience not only of practising the skills, but also of designing and delivering these training courses; from the practicalities of how to get to and from the training venue, to balancing ideas (theory) and exercises (practice), it was obvious to me that Alan has 'been around the block' not a few times. That could bring with it a sense of staleness but Alan has a genuine and passionate interest in what he does. He was also very generous with his time when fielding numerous queries from me!

Finally, I'd commend the training courses for their value for money. When I first sought out details of mediation skills training courses some of the fees mentioned led to a few eye-watering moments..In terms of 'bang for the buck', these courses are the best I've taken. They introduce you to a potent set of ideas and practices for much less cost than any other courses I've read about online. This was an important consideration for me, as I funded the training costs myself.

In conclusion, I am happy to share my respect and enthusiasm for the training courses offered by this organisation. Give me a shout, if you'd like to know more.

CAOS Conflict Management are experts in the field of Conflict Management and Mediation. The training they offer organisation and individuals is excellent. I would highly recommend them if you need a process that is sound and using one on one capability to resolve conflict.
