This charity handles the government household support fund grants for my area, I applied for an energy grant in April through them, they tell you not to contact them for a month with their initial automated email so after sending all my evidence I waited a month only to be told they can't find it,
then after sending it again (which is difficult for me due to two critical illnesses) I'm told they've found my original evidence & I've been awarded & will receive the payment which could take up to 15 working days so I wait a few more weeks & no funds arrive.
I message them & after another wait I'm told it was sent to my old account as I had moved (I told them this beforehand)
I then receive quite a blunt email saying they are reluctant to send it out again in this fashion & vouchers are an option so I say yes please I'll have that as I'm now on payg, I'm then told payg won't accept vouchers but this is incorrect I explain I've had them before & have shop top up cards to use with them then I'm told they don't do vouchers anymore (so why offer them?) it's a letter to use at the post office (which costs £20 out of the grant to process I'm not told this until after I agrees to this method of payment) which I say yes to, I'm still waiting for this to arrive months after my initial application. I've budgeted for this grant in my outgoings as I've been offered it & I'm now at risk of losing my supply. Hopefully it will arrive soon or I'll be getting the candles out

*update over a week on & no letter I'm told if it doesn't arrive I have to wait 3 months before they can issue it again. I'm now running out of electricity & have no money for 3 weeks as I budgeted this grant into my outgoings thanks Act on Energy I'm now in a emergency situation because of your lack of support!

**another two weeks on I have directly emailed them through their online contact form on top of emails to David Smith who's now ignoring me asking if thay can help my situation & explaining in length what's happened it's been 6 days now & no response. I will be taking this to my local MP to deal with they are clearly not interested in resolving the issue

*** I have finally received the first half of the grant, I was told it was sent back in July it's now 22nd August, the letter is dated 16th August! This charity is a joke gives miss information & is very unsportive I've had nothing but stress the manager dealing with it replies to emails when he feels like it & ignores some messages for weeks on end. I budgeted for this payment into my energy bill it left me short of energy for the month I wish I had never applied to start with

Not fit for purpose. Can't believe this company are administering public funds when they seem incapable of doing anything correctly.

This company is meant to help people who have run down homes, get home improvements that will help keep them warm & save them money. But all they seem to want to is drag out the process and not be helpful what so ever. Terribly run company
