The nicest thing I can say about Henry Armstrong is that he truly cares about his clients. He is a man who will go the extra mile. He does what he says he will do and he is always accessible and ready to help. He did a great job for us and I would thoroughly recommend him to friends and family. He is knowledgeable and patient and by the end of our purchase I though of him as a friend. I’d give him six stars if possible!

My partner and I started 2022 excited to begin our journey to purchase our very first home. We were aware from the start that our mortgage product options would be limited and likely subject to slightly higher rates, due to do a really poor credit score for one of us. We initially hired a broker in a large London firm, under a friend's recommendation. He was good, but gave us the impression of being extremely busy and hard to reach. Our dealings with him felt cold and transactional. Then, when the mortgage chaos created by Truss' policy hit the UK, he told us we should abandon our plans to look for a property until the housing market and interest rates had stabilised again and couldn't help us. Stubborn as I am, I didn't want to believe this was the end of the road. We decided to speak to a second broker from a specialist agency for applicants with bad credit scores. She was nice, but she could only offer one product and we were put off by their incredibly high fees. We then spoke to a broker from a known high street estate agent. He tried his best, but unfortunately, in the climate of the time and because of the one poor credit score (worst he had ever seen in his career apparently) he literally told us none would touch us with a barge pole. Unable to also help us, he did however suggest we could try search for a broker on a specialist platform called Unbiased.

Henry was the one contacting us in no time from the moment we signed up. From the very beginning, he was professional, helpful and really approachable and we had a really good feeling about him. The fact we had one horrendous credit score did not scare him away, so much so that he came back to us proposing not one, but 3 mortgage products, going as far as contacting a lender he hadn't worked with for a number of years as they were offering the best deal for us.
With him, we obtained our offer in principle in no time and started the exciting stage of house hunting. We were incredibly lucky and within a week of viewings, in October we found a dream property we fell in love with. We put our offer through and all along the way, Henry was there to guide us and help us navigate the many stages of the house purchasing process.
A single Google review isn't enough to describe the lengths at which Henry worked, how hard, how supportive, patient, reassuring and helpful he was for these past 7 long months. No question was ever too much to ask, always easy to get ahold of, always happy to suggest options for us to consider throughout. All the while with a smile on his face.
As well as our mortgage product, he also worked really thoroughly to get us the best life insurance for our circumstances and needs.
During an incredibly stressful and time sensitive exchange of contracts (our renewed mortgage offer was due to expire in a matter of days) he went above and beyond to make sure everything would run smoothly, even contacting our sellers' lender to check everything was in place and help speed the process up.
Henry literally pulled a rabbit out of his magical broker hat! He made it possible for us to get on the property ladder in an already dire climate, when we had already been told there were no chances for us to make it. It truly feels like we have been dealing with a friend that had the best market knowledge as well as our best interest at heart. We thank our lucky stars we crossed paths with him and had him in our corner. He's one of a kind, so much so we haven't stopped recommending him.
Our friend that initially suggested the London firm? Turns out, she was really unhappy with her last mortgage renewal. We obviously have shared Henry's details and really hope she gets in touch with him.
We can't stop thanking you Henry, we'll keep shouting from the rooftops about you and really look forward to keep working with you on our house related matters in the future. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us make our dream of buying our very first home a reality!
