We used a local solicitor for a house purchase to support the local economy. We could have gone on-line cheaper. We paid £475 up front. After searches came back, we were advised to be careful about the property as it had been underpinned. We withdrew, and asked if we owed anything. We were told no by the conveyancer as we had paid upfront. 2 weeks later and another bill arrived for another £525! So just short of £1000. When questioned, there was no negotiation, frankly NFG from this firm. Don't bother with this firm. Go online and get a no purchase guarantee on fees.

Last week I went to have document signed the receptionist answered the door I explained what I wanted the receptionist never asked me in but said to come back Wednesday morning and a solicitor will look at my paperwork.I said would I ring first or make an appointment she said there was no need. I rang the bell this morning the receptionist answered the door she looked me up and down and said the solicitor was in a meeting and to come back tomorrow I am 68 and cannot every remember being treated like a second class citizen until today is my money not good enough for them I am disgusted at my treatment and will definitely take my business and future business elsewhere it is their loss shame on you
