Looking at the comments, it seems that half the company are great, while the other half are pretty useless! After dealing with the Leeds office, I obviously got the useless half.

Early on I filled in an online form on their website complaining about the poor communication/slow service but never even received a response.

I complained again, to my dedicated person's Line Manager, about the lack of communication and slow service - again, nothing.

The service from them is dreadful & whilst I appreciate that solicitors work slowly in comparison to other industries, getting a 'chain free/empty' house sale through was painful.

They have an app which you download once you have instructed them, which at first glance seems great, innovative and a really useful tool, however, if it's not updated/used correctly, then it's totally worthless - it was updated at the very beginning when they want you to sign all their forms...after that, it went downhill.

I didn't get much interaction from Sofia at all (until I got really annoyed!), and the person managing my case while she was on leave did absolutely nothing for a week, the emails I got were short/abrupt & I could never get hold of anyone by phone directly - it was permanently diverted to answerphone. When I did call the main office number, the receptionist was dreary, unhelpful and told me that they have 24 hours to respond to telephone messages and 5 days to written messages - what kind of service is that?

If you call a company needing information, let's say a utility company, are you happy for them to call back in 24 hours, or do you want an answer there and then? The fact they state '5 days response time to online messages' is dreadful in this day and age, how on earth does it take 5 days. Other industries work quicker and more efficiently, so I'm amazed why solicitors work at a completely different pace to the rest of the world and have never thought to streamline/improve it?

The house buying process is stressful for both sellers/buyers and the solicitor should be aware of that and behave accordingly - advising clients of the steps, keeping them updated and reassuring them. I didn't get any of this (until the very last few days of the process when I rang to complaint and my case got moved to a more senior person). I didn't even get an introductory phone call/email and I was constantly made to feel I was being a nuisance, although I only messaged/called once a week.

So all in all, a terrible experience and if you are still going to use them, research first who you are getting, as this seems to make all the difference!

Extremely Disappointing Conveyancing Experience

As a letting agent who has worked with many conveyancers over the years, I can confidently say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. From the very beginning, their communication was appalling. Emails went unanswered for days, and getting a clear response from the team was near impossible.

Despite numerous requests for updates and a timeline for completion, I was left in the dark throughout most of the process. Their lack of professionalism and responsiveness was far below industry standards, causing unnecessary stress and delays.

If you value clear communication, timely responses, and a smooth conveyancing process, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This firm's service was completely unacceptable from start to finish.

Awful service so far.
Our original conveyancer left the company and they didn't tell us. Our seller has been trying to send them draft paper work 4 weeks, but as the appointment person no longer works there, no has taken receipt of this so 4 weeks have been wasted.

They have taken payment and done nothing for 4 weeks, and when trying to call them, I got an email asking for and additional £300 to get call backs quicker than 3 days.
They don't responded to emails and when the eventually get round to responding there are very vague.

They were sent everything they require to do their job, yet they have come back to be me and asked for things they already have and just haven't looked at properly.

It is just such a low standard of service which is a shame as they came recommended and some of the reviews a great. I just wish we had the same level or service and solicitor that these people had.

DO NOT USE THE HUDDERSFIELD BRANCH! This is probably the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced! Every time you call the person you want to speak to there is never an answer and then when you call reception and ask for a specific person they’re never at their desk! It makes sense why things are so slow and they take ages to even respond to an email. Our move is currently going through and Chadwick are the ones delaying everything, Lashana and Aisha from the Huddersfield branch are so bad! Our main solicitor Lashana has only spoken to us once and Aisha just never bothers to call or email back! If you extra stress when moving then defo use them because trust me, they’ll make it stressful! Most of the reviews say the same thing and they don’t seem to resolve the issue? Steer clear from these!!
