I have spoken to citizens advice for help with form filling and for benefit legal advice. I have been having serious trouble with my council home managed by South Essex Homes. Unfortunately now though citizens advice has been contracted by Southend City Council to provide floating support. Unfortunately when this happened was just after COVID. I spoke to their old housing legal person and as I had signed a no win no fee contract I was told I couldn't get legal help but that was the problem the nwnf company had not managed to get my full tenancy file and the statement of liability given to them was a complete falsehood. Anyway this was the end of 2022 . I tried very very hard to obtain help from citizens advice for a long long time that year but just couldn't get it. I had been taken to court by my landlord and the no win no fee solicitors told me they don't deal with bedbugs as disrepair. In fact the whole time it was because of asbestos the modernisation of my home could not happen but I made a promise to the court . I have kept my promise but unfortunately Clr Gilbert has not kept his. So every time I asked for housing legal help because the council have a lot of financial input my problems were not taken seriously until this I met the new guy at the CAB office for housing problems. I can't mention his name but he was very very concerned about my situation. Yesterday though 27/11/2024 I got a call from two great people at the call centre (new) . I wish to say thank you so so very very much for that I felt so good after my last visit. I'm going to mention this guy's Christan name it was Mohammed. Thanks so so so so very very much to everyone that has helped me a CAB. Thanks so so so much xxxx. Mohammed is a truly saintly person and he spent a great deal of time on the phone with me.xxx

It was ridiculous!!! We went there for one specific thing and we got nowhere and the lady I spoke to spoke down at me and my partner so much we left feeling totally disrespected and with no help at all!!! Thought citizens advice was ment to help and advise struggling families, we got anything less than help!

I have just phoned apparently it was the CEO that answers the calls in. The lady wouldn't let me finish my sentence so in turn was not helping me with what I need.
The council site says to phone CAB to make an appointment yet this the lady, the CEO of CAB, tells me I have to come in before I can get an appointment.
People's have different issues.
We phone CAB for help and advice and get greeted by a woman like that.
I will be making a formal complaint t on this woman and the experience from my call today.
