I have just One ongoing problem with my account at Dains and that has been caused by NEST. pension scheme. Nest are. very difficult to communicate with.

Dains are a wonderful accountants to use. I was only sole trader but very under knowledged on even doing simple tax returns. Andrew at dains was very friendly, polite, understanding, and very helpful. All queries/questions ect answered fast. Highly recommend. Thanks very much for your help guys. 👍😊

I trusted my business affairs would be handled professionally by Andrew Bentley of Dains.
When simple deadlines with HMRC started to be missed, and then quite casually said they would deal with the penalty and then never pay it, I started to question things. Covid was the first excuse and then came the blaming of the staff.
To cut a long story short, when my companies filing date had been extended for the 3rd time to the max for no reason I had to appoint a new accountant to deal with my affairs.
Andrew Bentley refused to hand over the necessary documents to allow full control until his outstanding invoice had been paid (this included aborted works)
Its a shame that a reputable company can be tarnished by this sort of incompetency but at the end of the day, it was my business that was at risk and this is why I felt compelled to right this review.
Oh, and by the way, I had to make the decision to pay the outstanding invoice rather than see Dains in court so that my new accountants could get my business affairs back on track straightaway, after all, HMRC are not interested in excuses and those in the profession know this.
I do hope that my experience is a one off for the sake of all those businesses that rely on the services of Dains and Andrew Bentley
