I approached Donoghue Solicitors with the intention of pursuing both data protection and professional misconduct claims against a local council. After three weeks of communication on several occasions, including emails and phone calls with their team, I was offered a private retainer service. During these interactions, I consistently expressed my intentions and provided relevant documentation for both claims.

However, despite my clear communication, Donoghue Solicitors eventually informed me that they do not specialise in professional misconduct claims against local authorities, which was disappointing. This miscommunication led to a considerable waste of time. I had believed from our discussions that they could handle the areas of law I required, specifically regarding potential compensation for professional misconduct.

In addition, the fees discussed seemed unclear and not transparent, adding to the overall dissatisfaction. The result of my experience was frustration and no resolution to my issues. Despite their initial willingness to assist, the lack of expertise in the specific legal areas I needed (professional misconduct and data protection) became evident too late in the process.

Overall, I am disappointed with the service provided by Donoghue Solicitors and cannot recommend them based on my experience.

Cannot thank Kemmi Alfa enough for taking on my claim and getting me a great result. Leave them to do what they do and come back to you with results. Whilst my claim was likely a small one for them it massively impacted my world all the stress I had been through I reached out and thought let's see if I can turn this negative experience into a positive and they certainly did that. I've been kept informed throughout the process and kemmi acted in my best interests we was offered a settlement of £3000 but she said I think we can do better than that and your claim is worth more , a few more weeks later we settled at £5000 happy days.
