After viewing a home in November,we were told that Darren couldn’t get hold of the beneficiaries. Even after we agreed a price and put down a deposit. Hung on for weeks bearing in mind it was only a mobile home with a 21 day turnover to complete. We were then offered another one double the price,knowing we only wanted a small place.Darren said to offer the previous price as they were again beneficiaries so might take up the offer. Offer refused so counter offer made. Yet again Darren made excuses of not getting hold of the sellers. Excuse after excuse. This was suppose to be a quick turnaround due to us selling a house which had a handover date to which has been postponed several times because of the poor service from this company.
Very disappointed and the man shouldn’t be trusted,even when I’ve asked several times for a refund on deposit

Anthing more than one star i believe to be written by themselves or someone still fooled by Darren.
The most dishonest man in Addlestone.
Reported to trading standards and has several CCJ’s but folds the company but keeps the Edward Barclay trading name. Check him out on companies house and avoid him at all cost. One day he’ll do it to the wrong person.

I have worked closely with a couple who are good, honest people and who hit bad times because of ill health . As a result they have been forced to sell their home. I am their Litigation Friend. This company knew their situation but took advantage of them. They charged 2% commission and assured them (and me) over the phone that a buyer had paid £10,000 deposit on their house in cash. This was not true. In desperation we broke contract with this company and sold the house with a new agent within a week. Having spoken to others within the chain with whom Barclays have acted as agents, they are appalled by unprofessional service. We are together taking action against Barclays through the Ombudsman. Having dealt with a number of agents over the years I have never encountered a company as unprofessional. I hate to write such a scathing report but must try and prevent other vulnerable people from being treated like this. Incidentally, when I challeneged them about their £2% fee they told me that they do bespoke deals with clients. When I asked them what this meant they told me they will undercut every other agent. Their fee could well be around 0.75% then! Completely unethical.

After a trying move day, I am happy I moved into one of the property's managed by Edward Barclay, I was very pleased with the way they responded to all my requests and issues. They were immediately on the case with a drain issue I had the first week I moved in, and are always very friendly when popping in for one of their regular inspections. Overall I would call them knowledgeable, organised & friendly.

!!!!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only time we had pleasant dealings with this man was when we signed the papers or we were handing over cash(Because he asked for everything in cash!?!?! and i am pretty sure it all went straight in to his pocket)
This man is rude, extremely condecending and just out for money.

Having moved in to the flat we found the windows to be rotten, three years and we move out guess what nothing had been done!
He inspects every 3 months and tells us we cant have furniture against the walls and that it would cause damp. On these inspections he would try and start an argument with my ex partner over nothing in particular and complain that the carpets had not been hoovered.

When we had the bathroom redecorated he pushed the contractor so hard to make the job cheap that we ended up having to replace the bath panel our selves and redo the bath seal, as the job was done in a rush. The flooring inthe bath room has a stain due to a leak up stairs, we are now expected to pay for a replacement? after we were told insurance was dealing with it?

Now we are being told (despite spending two weeks cleaning and repainting our flat, because we knew Mr Bainbridge would try to squeeze every drop of money out of us he could) We were told the flat was disgusting? his words not ours.

All in all THIS MAN IS AN AWFUL MAN TO DEAL WITH!!!!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
Makes you believe they are friendly local estate agent but doesn’t disclose full truth in there quest to take as much money as they can get.
Asked me for £550 remarketing fee in August & I far as I’m aware barely 2 viewings in nearly 6 months.
No intention of looking after the customer as my written complaints took over a month to get a response & then I was told to submit a complaint in writing so they couldn’t actually remember hat they had replied to.
I asked for documentation & the keys back but they ignored my emails & the odbussman should vet out these Buisness that hard working people are trapped into paying thousands of pounds just to line their own pockets.
