Ellis Atkins have been absolutely fantastic managing my personal tax affairs and self assessment. I have been a client of Ellis Atkins for many years, initially for my self employment as a childminder and more recently in relation to other self employment and rental property. Ethan and Philip went above and beyond, during a tricky case with HMRC of reclaiming money. I cant recommend them enough. Great communication. Experts in their field..the process of submitting information very easy. The go to people for Self-Assessments!

Avoid!

I first engaged with Ellis Atkins about a CGT issue in early November 2023 and was being helped by one of the partners.

He was initially helpful over the phone and promised to look into the matter and come back to me. He didn't...

I politely chased over the coming weeks/months and did eventually get on another call with the partner in early February. Again, he seemed helpful on the call and sent over some notes and promised to look into the matter further... He didn't...

Again, I waited a few weeks and chased. No reply...

So, after another month I chased again. Out of office...

I have since gone to another firm in Dorking who have been very helpful and I have achieved more in 48hrs with them, than in 5 months with a partner at Ellis Atkins. The thing I have discovered though is that I have passed a 6 month late filing threshold and now owe hundreds of pounds in a fine. This is probably why they haven't got back to me since February as they realised they have delayed so much I am now liable for this. Thanks!

Had they acted within a couple of months of my first call this would have been avoided - that seems like plenty of time to me.
