We used Eric Bowes & Co for a second time after such good service when buying our first house. With purchasing our second home we had some issues which caused us some stress but Elaine explained everything thoroughly and made sure we understood each step and were up to date with all information we needed. Had one of the worst experience with Eric Bowes (and particularly Elaine Townsend). They:
- Forgot about documents that we (as the buyers) had to repeatedly remind them about
- Didn’t reply to emails at all and ignored calls (eg we once only managed to get a reply to an email after more than 4 weeks)
- Rude and unhelpful when asked questions from a first time buyer

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Eric Bowes, especially if your a first time buyer.

This solicitor acted for my ex-wife during our divorce. The letters I received were very aggressive which left me with a feeling of being bullied and forced to make decisions I was not happy with.
Mistakes were made with basic information meaning the correction was a chargeable activity
Instead of taking the divorce smoothly to a conclusion it added to the horrendous time taken

David Wade is a great solicitor, he have given me great advice in preparation for the court case, how to prepare the questions, he have also pointed out how the court order have been poorly written, something that McKenzie friend simply didn't care about but is crucial as the court will than still expect you to assume that you should do something despite it not being even requested my the court and even blame you for that. Generally I highly recommend speaking with David to understand the court case and what needs to be done.
