A treasure of a greengrocers, where nothing is too much trouble and they can order in special produce as needed. Giddens & Thompson has a wonderful balance of local and desired ingredients - including a brilliant selection of herbs, including fresh curry leaves! The owners are knowledgeable and always there to offer advice on how to get the best from the produce, and they support local endeavours. From their freshly made juices to the very freshest of local fruit and veg, Giddens & Thompson is a must for anyone serious about where their produce comes from.

Better than the supermarket? Literally selling grapes from a middle rung German supermarket. Obviously at 3x the price

Excellent selection of the freshest fruit and vegetables at a fair price. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Not what it used to be. Staff are friendly but entirely lack knowledge (and in some cases even enthusiasm) whether on suggested uses, origin or even the variety of many items. Quality is often poor, past best, especially for soft fruits. I also suspect some items are identical wholesaler to those sold at the Co-op at a far lower price.
Whilst I entirely support local businesses, and Bungay has a fabulous high street, the price premium must deliver some added value. Usually, as before, and as with the deli, that is about staff knowledge, and exceptional quality standards. For now I prefer to support farm shops of which there are plenty nearby.
