I have had an awful experience with this firm who were instructed to complete my remortgage by NatWest. They failed to do the correct title searches and left me with 2 primary mortgages on my property. They told me I had completed and days later I found out they had not even cleared my previous mortgage. They have shown me no empathy when I have been chasing them to rectify their mistakes and left me in a legally and financially compromised position. AVOID!!!

Managed to get our new motgage sorted on time in the end but it was long winded and much more difficult than it needed to be. Our brokers had to do a lot of chasing and understanding what they were asking for and in what format. I’ve remortgaged quite a few times before and have never struggled to understand what was needed until this time!

SAVE YOUR MONEY

You have two options at this point. You can either use this conveyancing firm OR you can enquire to universities about enrolling on a law degree, go through the entire course, sit the exam, get some work experience, set up your own law firm and then do whatever you need doing yourself and I guarantee it'll be less stress than using this lot.

Incredibly, we didn't actually use this firm for our recent house move, our buyer did. I cannot count on two hands and two feet the amount of issues, set backs, lack of information management and processing and just sheer problems we experienced second hand as we patiently waited for someone at Gordon's to pull their finger out.

When we finally arrived on what should have been exchange day, our solicitor contacted us to say Gordon's hadn't given confirmation that the deposit from our buyer had been sent. I mean it wasn't much money to be fair, just £25k odd which obviously everyone has floating around. Throw away change right?
We had confirmation from our estate agents that the money had been sent from our buyer but Gordon's supposedly didn't have it.

It then transpired that they did have it but no one had bothered to process whatever needed to be processed to push the house sale on. This caused my wife and I untold stress and money as we had vehicles on hire, storage facilities in use and holiday booked with work as we were told repeatedly that there were no setbacks anticipated and we would exchange and complete in the same week. This setback pushed us back a week which meant we had to pay for another weeks van hire, rent on our storage facility and book more time off work at a seconds notice.

Goodness knows what stress our buyer went through. It was bad enough for us. This was just one of several issues we experienced having to indirectly deal with this lot.

My advice? Get a local firm and bin these online solicitors off. Yes they're cheaper, yes you'll pay more for a local one but my word, the additional stress all to save a few hundred quid is simply not worth it.

Avoid.

Tried to remortgage with natwest.
Ended up abandoning the remortgage due to the incompetence of these case handlers. The principle solicitors should be shot. Another prime example of you pay peanuts you get a team of underqualified individuals with no attention to detail and request the same and more information over and over again.

Natwest losing business for partnering with the wrong company

Instructed Gordon’s for a remortgage back in July; appalling communication - company wide, unable to reach Vanda on the phone (if it’s ever answered), deathly slow to respond to emails, no transparency on where in the process we are. Promised the process would take 3-5 days. It’s now in fact over 2 months later!!!! I’ve lost all patience now, along with my faith in this organisation. I’d advise anyone remortgaging to seek legal advice elsewhere

Our experience with this firm has been extremely disappointing. They were assigned to our case on March 27, 2024, and after months of back-and-forth emails, checks, and submitting requested documents, they only now realize—less than 30 days before our remortgage—that they cannot proceed with our case.

This level of disorganization is unacceptable. Wasting 4 months of our time and leaving us in a difficult situation without any regard for the inconvenience and stress caused is simply inexcusable. I would strongly advise against using their services if you value your time and peace of mind.

Wish I could do 0. DO NOT USE!!!!

The entire experience was miserable, we feel like we were left in the dark. Really poor communication. Terrible to get hold of. Rude & abrupt. We wish our mortgage advisor had never suggested this company - it ruined our whole first time buying process making it so stressful.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We bought our house in September 2018 and nearly 6 years later, we still don't have the freehold to our property.

Firstly, a document that was required for completion was left unsigned by the other party, meaning completion took place when it shouldn't have at all.

Secondly, GPL didn't even realise this was the case until I chased to ask why we hadn't get received our deeds.

Endless hours of phonecalls to them and HM Land Registry and endless amount of stress has resulted from such a poorly run solicitors.

I am so disappointed in the level of unprofessionalism. When you call, no one seems to know what they're doing and main solicitor on your case never calls or emails you back.

I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. On the 4th September it will be exactly 6 years until we "completed" on our home. After that, I will be contacting another solictor and taking these to court. They take your money and then do not follow up any outstanding issues. You case is just put into the archive, never to be looked at again.
