Received very poor service from this firm overall when dealing with my grandmother’s and mother’s probate. The firm had a very high staff turnover in the 20 months they had our file, this resulted in a slow, inefficient service with many mistakes made. We dealt with enquiries ourselves and were frustrated when we received such a high bill from the firm.
Their escalation procedure was poor, their documented complaints process was not followed due to lack of a complaints manager and no one picking up the work in their absence. The attitude of some directors was very unprofessional, acting like they had done us a favour by replying to our concerned emails whilst they were holidaying in France and some of the senior team don’t have the basic business skills like keeping everyone in copy when responding to emails or reading back on email threads to understand the issue before responding.
I would avoid using this firm for dealing with a probate due to the delays, lack of communication and unprofessional service we received.

Hawkins Ryan LLP have been my solicitors since June 2021 and have guided me through a very difficult drawn out divorce, family court proceedings over child custody and just completed my financial settlement. Shame I can't leave zero star rating. Biggest shame is we picked them to deal with our late parents estate, absolutely no communication, never call back and its over a year now and still they can't finish it last lot of paper work they needed was handed in September 2022 , told only a couple of weeks yet still waiting

Recently used Hawkins and Ryan for probate services. I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received from Andrew Stevenson.
Efficient, friendly, prompt and completely professional. We were kept informed and probate was achieved in a matter of 2 weeks. Excellent service from start to finish.
We are presently in the process of a house sale and conveyancing with Laura Backham at Hawkins, and I will review our experience of this process at a later date.

I cannot thank the conveyancing department enough after a tricky sale of my late mothers bungalow. Do not use them. You have been warned. They are unresponsive and never deliver on anything on time. Even when they get any paperwork completed, I feel like my 5 year old nephew would have done a better job. Forms were returned for me to sign without anything filled in. My name was spelled wrong on the documents. I am now taking on additional financial lose due to their delay.

Edit: The partners of the firm has taken over for the non-responsive individual. We are now making progress to getting everything completed.
