I own a small farm and had agreed very amicably with my neighbour that they were happy to legally extinguish their defunct vehicular right of way through my farm. Both parties very happy with this. Hay and Kilner estimated £1500 to do the work and i therefore signed Hay and Kilner's terms and conditions, after this they then upped their quote to £2400 including VAT just to add in literally two lines about water supply (again agreed by both sides), claiming that it would take another 2 hours work at £250 an hour. I obviously sacked them. I have just spoken to a another solicitors in Hexham and they quoted only £300 to do the work and i have engaged them and already had far better service... stay away from this firm, total crooks!
