Extremely unhappy with the service provided by HK in dealing with the estate of a deceased relative. Having stated that the process would likely take 6-8 months to complete, we’re now nearly two years later and there still doesn’t seem to be a timescale for completion.

Some of the other issues we've faced over the last two years:

* Incorrect documents sent for signing - including mistakes on financials
* Incomplete documents sent to my accountant which left us scrambling for information on the day the tax return had to be completed, which still needs to be amended and will likely incur a charge from HMRC. The required information had to be requested a second time after I enquired about it, to find out it hadn’t been chased originally.
* Fluctuating levels of communication and continual failures to provide updates when they said they would.
* Patchy/unresponsive to email communications
* At least 3 months of inaction on the account but likely more, even though they told us that things were progressing
* 2+ months to action the registration of the estate/fund with HMRC which is preventing withdrawal of funds

BE VERY CAREFUL USING HUMPHRIES KIRK FOR CONVEYANCING! It is NOT no sale no fee. My mother in law instructed them to conveyance her property in Bournemouth and it fell through, through no fault of her own. She was sent a bill of £1000 for the failed sale, and when the house went back onto the market, was told that none of this amount could be credited for the conveyancing of the new sale. BEWARE!

After being encouraged to use this law firm by my estate agent, you would think they are capable of supporting young buyers. This was not the case. We were treated so rudely and abruptly. We lost our chosen property.

After changing to a new solicitor within the firm, things were much better. It was clear that the conveyancers attitude was much more focused on the task in hand.

Buffos Wake

It has taken a year to deal with the assets of a deceased relative. Humphries Kirk have been incredibly unresponsive and slow. We have done a lot of the ground work for them as they have been so slow despite our involvement, HK have dragged this on for far too long. This affected the sale of a property. Everytime we chased their progress we got charged. The assets amounted to approx 42,000 and their fee for not adequately facilitating the situation was approx 7,000. They have used covid as an excuse for their snail pace despite the job being relatively small. We are disgusted with their lack of professionalism and consideration

I do not recommend Humphries Kirk and will never use them again.
