Fantastic Job so far went on a comparison site to find a conveyancer. Home Legal Direct was one of the cheapest to appear. Checked over there reviews they had 5 stars on trust pilot so applied and within 2 minutes received a call off Alfie, he was great, friendly and explained everything in full.
Within a few hours I’ve now completed everything I need to process the move further and they will take care of the rest didn’t think it would move so fast.
Fingers crossed the rest is smooth. Thanks again Alfie!

Evelyn was incredibly helpful in supporting me in understanding the process of my instruction to purchase my first home. She was patient in answering questions and clarifying 'jargon' in a way that I could fully understand and be confident moving forwards in the process. Home Legal Direct were quick to respond to my query about a very simple conveyancing (no mortgage, no survey) but they don't do the work themselves, they allocate you to an entirely different company, in my case Inspire Legal in Scarborough. Both HLD and your allocated company ask for some money up front before they do anything. Long story short, four months later, little or no progress was being made, emails went unanswered, and the vendors were absolutely furious. So badly did the conveyancing grind to a halt that I have had to jump shop. I have requested a return of the money I have paid HLD but, huge joke, because it is more than 14 days since they started the job, they say I'm not entitled to a refund. We will see. If you use this organisation, it will be complete pot luck whether you get a competent conveyancer, or a completely incompetent one, such as I had. If you like a lottery, use them. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Update. As you can see from Home Legal's response, they were not very happy with me for posting a negative review. Their opinion of how things went are clearly different to mine. As our late, great Queen once said, "recollections may vary....". But the long and the short is that a solicitor of Home Legal's choosing took nearly four and a half months to not reach completion, and Home Legal have, even now, made no apology for choosing them (Inspire Legal, Scarborough. Look at their Trustpilot rating) or offered their assurance they would not use them again. I was offered £206 partial refund on condition I removed my review, or amended it, but I chose not to accept it. As I said, use this company if you are feeling lucky.

When I lost the house I wanted to buy, I spoke to Michael, who despite my disappointment over the house, brought a smile to face with his pleasant and positive outlook! .

Chloe is like a breath of fresh air, as previous to speaking to her I had communications with another firm that took 2 days to reply to my queries, leaving me with a very negative feeling of wanting to instruct them. Great service! As soon as I made an online inquiry, i recieved a call shortly after who explained the details around the services . Things were extremely fast and efficient . Later I had a change of hearts for personal reasons and Michael specifically was extremely friendly and prompt in arranging the cancellation and refunds within minutes of requesting for it.
