I would just like to say thank you to Jon Childs and his team of expert builders for their personal attention throughout my rear kitchen extension. Looking for a good local builder was daunting to be honest. However, once I met with Jon junior who deals with the planning and drawings for the family run business I was left at ease. They quickly managed the local constraints with my local council and any issues were quickly dealt with meaning the project was underway within a week or so. The builders were polite, on time and nothing was too much hassle, even when I changed a few ideas last minute. We now love our new kitchen space and would highly recommend.

Jon's just designed our single storey rear extension and gained planning approval. He was hands on, punctual and responsive but also patience with us. Whilst we had plenty of ideas we didn't know where to start and he came up with a stunning but pratical design which complements the house and impressed our project manager/building team. We requested Jon to come and give some ideas for basement works for a art studio at our new house. Jon was brilliant in his advice and has delivered exactly what we were looking for.

We used Jon to draw up the plans for our 1st floor extension. We had an idea of what we wanted and Jon drew it up exactly and even did a render of the front to show the before and after! This really helped us visualise it and we made a couple of minor tweaks that we may not have noticed otherwise.
Jon also advised us what to do when the Planners came back with some concerns about us being too close to next door. So we followed up with his advice and received planning permission smoothly!
The build is now complete and looks just as we’d hoped! We have since recommend Jon to others and would use him again!

John replied to our initial enquiries promptly and arranged for an initial consultation within days. John was very affable and I felt he really grasped what we wanted for our extension and articulated some great ideas as we walked around. John is very knowledgeable about the entire process and was able to highlight various points we would need to be aware of. After this meeting I cancelled the further meetings I had arranged with different architects and decided to go with John. Unfortunately, we have had to halt our plans and will not get to see the vision John was already creating! I would have no hesitation recommending him to other people wanting to extend their house.
