I was quoted a price of £293 for a full service but then told the bill was £415 as they had forgot to add the labour charge. Should have been informed of this before the work was completed. They have offered me a discount of 20% on future work to make up for this error

Depends who's around when u get there. Some'll do the job (if it's a quickie) there & then, no questions asked, £50 in their pocket, they're happy. Someone else'll want u 2 book it in, takes 2wks 2b seen, then 2hrs 2do a half hour job at £60 an gr8 + vat lol.

Not a great experience for me. First time going there. Two unidentified sounds - a knocking noise and a grinding noise when turning the steering wheel. They couldn't confirm the causes. Possibly but not definite top shock mount making knocking noise. Grinding very likely wheel bearings. Maybe CV joint. So asked them to repair the bearings as that would fix one noise at least.

Went to pick it up and they've replaced the top shock mount. Asked why and mechanic said because it's the one thing you can't diagnose. So, I asked about the bearings and said I thought they needed replacing and that they were causing the grinding noise. He said yes, but they have plenty of life left in them - all of 6 months apparently and that it would be costly to replace.

Me: So, have you fixed my car?
Mechanic: Don't know.
Me: Did you test drive it?
Mechanic: No, because it would cost you another £60 to road test it.

£392 later. Got in my car and instantly ... cluck! Basically, they would've known it hadn't fixed the problem the moment they drove it out of the garage. Replaced the part I didn't ask them to replace. Left with the same problem I arrived with, minus £392. Also, they kept my car till the following morning without informing me. So, I turned up to collect my car at closing time to be told I couldn't have it till the next morning resulting in loss of work.

If they're expecting me to bring my car back in 6 months to replace the bearings, they're sadly mistaken. Also, I've never had a garage charge me for road testing.

The go-to for any car issues. Had my MOT and service here about 6 months ago, and got an electrical problem fixed this week with my car. Honest workers, great price and done in good time. Would highly recommend!
