I first instructed Levicks in 2015, when I began working as a freelance (sole trader) business trainer. I was really impressed how I was guided through the process of making the shift into self employment and have felt very supported ever since. Regrettably I've sometimes been one of those sole traders who doesn't get their books together and over to the accountant until days before the self assessment deadline and have been impressed about how quick and patient the firm has been. Being a sole trader can be quite a lonely experience and as well as having somebody to prepare my accounts, it's been invaluable being able to call up for advice when there's something I don't understand about matters such as my tax, planning the next year and how to make the best of my finances. My accounts have been managed by Tracey Pearcy, who has been great to work with. I've found her very supportive and calm in talking me through options and patient when I've been asking questions about something complex (complex to me at least as a non-expert!) There have even been a couple of times when she has made time for me at very short notice because I've had an urgent query. There was one occasion when I encountered an unexpected problem and Tracey spent about an hour and a quarter on the phone with me at almost no notice which was very helpful. As my business has grown I've recently made the transition to trading as a limited company and again have been really impressed by the guidance about how best to manage my finances - salary, tax, pension, working with different accounts, forecasting and so on. I've had some bad experiences with accountants in other contexts so appreciate the difference in the service that Levicks provide.

Tracey Pearcey a partner at Levicks was contracted to be my accountant, I left her after a year as i had concerns about her professionalism, Mrs Pearcey is always very hard to contact and doesn't seem very interested in doing a thorough job or even answering the simplist of questions, she has landed me with a £60,000 bill from customs and excises (i received no penalties which is rare and indicates this was entirely poor accountancy work) and is currently under investigation from her governing body the ICAEW.
She will not return any of my correspondence or communicate with me after many polite attempts, the one time she did it was to advise me that i should correspond with her solicitors which i duly did, they had not been appointed by her at any time and were fuming (their words) that she had done so in an effort to dissuade me from pursuing my claim, she will not provide me with her public indemnities insurance so i have now had to take my matter to the Update, found guilty by the ICAEW and fined, still no contact apology or any effort to compensate me
