I would highly recommend Lings. We dealt with Carla regarding our late Father’s estate. This included the sale of a property. She has been incredibly caring, and has made the process as straightforward and easy as possible. Carla explained everything clearly, and nothing was too much trouble. We were kept well informed and up to date all throughout the process.
Having compared estimates with another local Solicitor before choosing Lings we found their charges very reasonable, and fair.

My only complaint is we didn’t get to meet Jess, the chief meeter/greeter (specialist subject - tail wagging) or Barney, junior meeter (specialist subject-eating treats)

The quickest way to summarise my experience is "A safe pair of hands". My brother, sister and I were appointed as co-executors of our father's estate, but elected to ask a solicitor to handle this for us. From the initial meeting the support was the perfect balance of caring and professionalism. True sensitivity that this was related to the loss of a family member. (I contacted two other solicitors to give us a basis for comparison; one didn't respond and one sent us a 24 page form to complete before even talking with us)

Throughout we were kept informed, and asked whether we preferred email or letter for updates (We preferred email). We always felt we were clear on the status and any actions taking place. The overall feeling was that we were in control as much or little as we wanted to be, within the bounds of our duty as executors.

While it wasn't the happiest of circumstances to work with Lings, I would recommend them without hesitation.

I used Lings for a Grant of Probate and was very impressed. I had the pleasure of working with Carla, who is very knowledgeable and highly experienced. Her advice has undoubtedly saved me thousands - all for a very fair price.

Everyone I had the pleasure of speaking or communicating with were very courteous. My emails were always promptly replied to and Carla made her self available for the occasional call when required.

I found the attention to details was extraordinary and undoubtedly a contributing factor to the IHT400 based Grant, which included overseas assets, being issued 3 weeks after submission.

Needless to say, I highly recommend Lings and would not hesitate in using them for future needs.

Used Lings solicitors for my property purchase back a few months ago. Staff were friendly and attentive.
Prices were fair, it was difficult to get to speak to main solictor at points but you get that anywhere you go due to their work loads.
Attempted to use again recently for property sale and purchase but they were unfortunately at full capacity. Such a shame !
