I have been having lessons with Ed (Liphook Piano Lessons) for over a year. I have past classical piano training but wanted to learn additional music styles on the piano, namely blues and rock.

Ed is an extremely patient, knowledgeable and experienced musician/tutor, able to adapt his teaching approach to ensure principles are understood and practically demonstrated.

He has an affable teaching style and is tenacious in ensuring music is played faithfully, for example through rhythm, tempo, harmony and dynamics.

Working with Ed I have been introduced to new playing techniques, use of chords, scales, melody, how to improvise and play along with other musicians.

I've been having piano lessons with Ed for over a year now - he's a very friendly and accommodating teacher who goes out of his way to make sure that his students are happy and invested in the music they're learning. I hadn't played piano before but I think I've improved hugely over the last year and would recommend Ed to anyone who is thinking of trying the piano.
