Rachelle Thomas of this firm recently completed on a sale and purchase matter for us.

The service given by Rachelle was first rate.

Responsive, straightforward and helpful throughout, Rachelle has been a credit to the firm.

No hesitation in returning or reccomending.

Highly recommend. Amy Church and her team were absolutely fantastic in making the process as smooth, easy to understand and clear as possible. Their fees are reasonable and they supported our transaction even when we were in different cities. Property transactions in the UK are complex and confusing for someone that is not familiar with the British property system. .

Despite a number of unnecessary issues caused by my buyers, which resulted in huge delays, Amy dealt with my sale calmly and was prompt, always chasing to ensure completion did take place. I highly recommend Amy and the Lucas and Wyllys conveyancing team.

I would recommend these solicitors, they kept me informed all the way and supported me with the completion of the on line forms which was a first for me. Always responded promptly to emailed enquiries and called back, when they said they would. We're supportive and understanding of issues caused by delays further along the chain and did their best to mitigate them.

Lucas & Wyllys dealt with both the sale and purchase of our properties.

Firstly I will say, everything was dealt with, sorted & done, price seems fair enough. So if all you care about is getting the job done, then no need to read on.

The one star review is PURELY down to communication. I don't want to go into too much detail and leave an essay of a review, so I will keep it simple.

MULTIPLE calls to Amy where never returned. Email tennis is how it seems to be, which certainly didn't suit us. This was our first sale and we didn't really know what to expect or what is next in the process etc, and nothing got any clearer as nothing was explained to us at all. Simple case of "download the app" then from there it's filling in forms we didn't understand with absolutely no assistance or support.

Amy must be extremely well qualified, because every time my wife called to speak to her, the receptionist (who was rude and abrupt) informed my wife she was on a course, or in a meeting, or out of the office, or on the phone....

Then every time we where promised Amy would call us back, we receive an email instead of a call.

I appreciate it is 2022, and apps etc are the way the world is going. But what happened to human interaction and communication?!

Ordinarily, if I feel compelled to leave a negative review, I would always contact the business first to discuss before leaving my review, however in this case, I haven't even tried, because the odds of me speaking to anyone other than the receptionist are pretty dam slim!

If you have got this far, I will be fair and leave on a positive. Some of my family have recently used L&W for their house move, and only yesterday they told me how happy they where with their service, and that they have used them before, and would certainly use them again.

So maybe our experience was a one off at a particularly busy time.

The simple truth of this situation, is answering a phone, or returning a call, would have literally been the difference between 1 and 5 stars.

I recommend using them with the hope they read this review and learn from it ?

SHOCKING!!!
Rachelle Thomas was awful. Not only did she nearly ruin our heart felt sale she was rude, unprofessional and in all honestly completely incompetent. She made what only was meant to be an easy experience for my Husband and I and all parties involved a lovely thing to do quite frankly awful. This firm really needs to use this as an eye openor as to who is mentoring their trainees. Thankfully after promising an exchange then leaving it as a mess to take annual leave it did us a favour as Amy took over and we exchanged and completed within two days. Not only did this cause myself and my Husband 6 weeks of not knowing where we stood we also lost our holiday money and also the constant feeling of being left in limbo week after week.

Lycas and Wyllys. Please note this 'empire building' trainee has not only made me ill but locally caused your firm damage to agents and other Solicitors.

Unprofessional does not even cover this!

And i may not have been a client but overall your whole service was disgraceful.

So it is not inaccurate it is completely the truth!

As the company has asked to discuss this four years after I left the review, here is my comment: while the legal aspects of the purchase were dealt with competently, I have never experienced a firm - of any kind - which communicated so poorly. At every stage I kept needing to seek information about the purchase from others as they simply would not respond to calls or emails. Despite me telling them I was not local and was using them because of a family recommendation, they also asked more than once whether I would be physically present to sign documents etc. This made a very stressful time (my son had recently been born and I spent a large period of time abroad that year) even more stressful to the point of affecting my health.

It appears that partway through the purchase my designated solicitor left, a fact that I was also not made aware of until some time after it had happened, though I will say the communication got slightly (but not hugely) better after that point. On purchase day itself I was told by the estate agent that keys were ready for collection - I was then rung about an hour later by L&W to tell me the same thing, when I was already in the house.

The lesson I have learned from this is to always use a local solicitor where if all else fails you can physically go to the office to speak to them. I also don't think this company should take on remote clients if they aren't aware of what this means practically.

The fact that the purchase happened in 2017 and I still have very vivid negative memories of this company should give a sense of my experience.
