We commissioned Luke to build our extension. We had never done something like this before and so really needed someone to hold our hand through the process. Having a university degree in construction as well as a wealth of experience, Luke's knowledge was second to none and he always took the time to explain how the build was developing and what the next phase would involve, why things had to be done a certain way in respect of the building regulations and the structural engineer's report. He even arm-wrestled with South West Water over an ultimately redundant concern that had been raised about the proximity of our outer wall to an inspection chamber, which stalled the project until it was resolved. The team that Luke uses are fantastic, from bricklayers to joiners, electricians to plasterers, kitchen fitters to decorators. The site was cleared every day and sometimes I'd wonder if they had been on site at all, only to then notice the amount of progress that had been made. The attention to detail and finish that Luke insists on is exemplary and was an important part of the reason that we chose him in the first place.
I highly recommend him and his team for any building projects you may be considering.

Luke Vickery, Matt and Frazer, and his team have undertaken several projects for me, the first of which was a complete refurbishment of St. Agnes, overlooking Ilfracombe harbour. This involved complete replacement of all internal electrics and plumbing, refurbishment of thirty sash windows, a new roof and reslating of mansard, the installation of a kitchen and five new bathrooms, rebuilding a small extension and replastering and decoration throughout. The work was completed to the highest standards and Luke and his team did a great job. Due to the bespoke nature of much of the refurbishment and the age of the house, creative solutions were needed in many situations and they had the expertise to find them. There was great attention to detail and the team worked hard to make things exactly how I wanted them. Everyone involved was friendly and helpful and it was a pleasure to work with them. If you are seeking a trustworthy builder who aims to to do the highest quality work I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Luke for your project.

We used Luke for a self build house in Appledore, from the moment I met Luke and Matt on site, when the plot was just a field, I knew they were the kind of people I could work with to build my dream home. A friendly, professional and reliable service from start to finish with tradesmen that obviously take great pride in their work. The property was constructed to a high specification and even though it was constructed at a time of high inflation, came in on budget. It was easy to build a good working relationship with Luke, Matt and Frazer and they were always available to inform and advise when required. The project was completed in the anticipated timescale and tradesmen and materials were always on site when they said they would be. It was great to see the house develop daily from a bare field into the wonderful property it is now. During my regular visits to site, all of Luke’s team were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly use L.Vickery Building Contractors on future projects and would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.
