Love the Cliff railway. Makes it much easier to visit both places. Often, we have done a return journey. Prices have steadily increased over the years (as you'd expect), so today we walked down and took the Cliff Railway back up. Great views as you travel in either direction. There can be a short wait in the summer as it becomes busier.

Very picturesque and features a fantastic piece of engineering. A hill side railway lift operated by water, a hydro lift. A must visit Cafe not far from the top is Charlie Fridays award winning and really quirky. The cakes and Ginger/ beetroot smoothie was amazing.

Lovely experience on our road trip around Cornwall. ÂŖ3.50 per person and ÂŖ1 per dog. We enjoyed it all, and the view from the top was nice. The walk down was pleasant as well. Must try! #travelwithtentbox

It was a great experience with wonderful views. This cliff railway service has an interesting history and is important to both Lynton and Lynmouth, otherwise known as "Little Switzerland."If you're here, this is a must.

Went to lynton & lynmouth when I was six, which was seventy years ago.
There are a lot more places to eat and lots of shops to explore, but the surrounding scenery has not changed.
Actually, the main reason for my trip was to use the Cliff Railway as it was closed when I was six and have always wanted to go back, and this time, with success and a wide smile I managed it.
The history behind the railway is fascinating to read or be told by the older staff who have been involved with the railway for a number of years.
A quick word about the cafe at the top,do pop in, and for those who like bread pudding, it's a must.
Send all day exploring, and you won't regret it.
