Well, seemingly like most other reviews for the Maldon Post Office, I was really disappointed about the customer service provided by the older women behind the counter, who was rude and borderline unprofessional. Clearly doesn't want to work there, nor shouldn't!

Moody older woman with long reddish brown hair,criticised my t-shirt saying it was offensive to women,I was stunned at her comments as it has nothing to do with her what I wear ,her job is to serve people,be polite and smile, that's it! Unprofessional is an understatement! I was wearing a star wars t-shirt,with princess leia printed on it,from a Disney shop,so how is it offensive? I dont use them now as its a depressing, tired ,scruffy part of town,should be relocated to the top of high St IMO.Both these sad old slags should be made redundant,their time is up!

Before I get into anything, the man that works here is friendly, talkative and helpful.

I have been using this post office for a year, and have had some good and some negative interactions, as with any business but after today I will never use this post office again.

I was served by a woman who first reminded me of how close it was to closing time and how I should have been here earlier. Fair enough, my mistake. After this, she aggressively criticised where I wrote the address on the parcel before exclaiming about the “telling off” I was receiving from her.

I’m quite a passive person and would write this off as just someone having a bad day normally, but after this she justified it by saying “I’m only telling you because you’ll end up working here”. I can take the staff being short, grumpy and rude, but when you start making comments like that, it crosses the line.

I will never use this post office again. Please train your staff to not insult customers.

Oh look, yet another 1 star rating for the same rude woman that everyone mentions. Been here on a few occasions and I absolutely dread walking into the place, because you get the same miserable awkward middle aged woman that makes life as difficult as possible for you on multiple occasions.
She SHOULD NOT be working in a customer facing role, she is an absolute disgrace.
Talks to you in a condescending manner every single time you go in there. Go to Heybridge post office and you get the nice friendly helpful man who can rectify any problems.

Disgraceful service!!! I asked for eleven plain 1st class stamps for business use the women serving said that I would have to purchase a book of 50 if I wanted them, as the Christmas stamps was all they had. If I had not already paid for them I would of gone to Heybridge Post Office where they DO keep plain 1st class stamps. If it was possible not to leave any stars I would of done. This woman was rude and to busy talking to a colleague to even care about why she was there. Definitely shouldn't be working anywhere near the public, if she is unhappy with her she job change it, there are plenty of factory jobs going! Or maybe this woman sitting behind the counter feels far superior to the customers and enjoys being rude as It must make her feel good. I will never again go into Maldon post office.

Extremely poor and rude customer service by the blonde middle aged lady behind the desk. Point blank refusal to accept my large letter sized item as a large letter despite the fact I send these very same items every week from Heybridge where they accept and process my order with a smile and a bit of personality. I won’t be back and I’ll be advising all and sundry to avoid. Disgusting. They’re only getting one star because if not I can’t leave a review. Avoid avoid avoid. All these negative reviews mean we can’t all be wrong!

Used this post office today for the first time only because I had some errands in Maldon. Suffice to say, I will not be back. Rude, rude and rude. And actually didn't know his job. The package he refused was willingly taken by my Tiptree lady without a moment's hesitation and a lot of eye rolling when I told her what had happened. I will return with glee to my lovely ladies in Tiptree and will never darken their door again in Maldon. Terrible!

If i could give this a minus score i would! Does not matter how polite as a customer you are, the post office staff ( middle aged woman in particular ) is so rude! She is sarcastic, miserable and just difficult in her manner. If you don't like dealing with people why on earth take on a customer face role? Reminder of why we usually use Washington Rd who are so lovely, friendly & helpful. Also - to the owners of this High Street post Office - if you insist on handing a stamp with your bare fingers to the customer to tell them to stick / lick it ( after passing it over the counter with your bare hands ), how about providing the customer with a wet sponge? Or allow the staff to wet it as we are passing saliva onto that stamp and passing it back to staff to send with proof or postage! Absolute madness!
