I use this post office multiple times a week as I run a small business. The staff are professional, courteous and always very friendly. Very efficient too! The queues always go down really quickly and I often marvel at how fast they can work. The front desk that takes the money for cards or the foreign currency desk all help out immediately when there’s just the slightest queue building up. It’s always a pleasant experience going in there except for when certain customers are rude to the staff for no reason and even try to intimidate other people in the queue. It’s totally out of order and I tell them so.
The manager is excellent too and has clearly trained her staff to her excellent standards.

Edit - I’ve just noticed the two reviews by ‘Anthony’ about the same incident.
Oh my what a fibber! I was behind him in the queue and I watched him be rude to absolutely everyone in the post office. He kept calling the member of staff ‘Madam’ but not in a friendly way. She politely asked him not to call her that. That’s when he became indignant and made a huge scene saying loudly that she had an attitude and that it’s a term of endearment. He looked at the rest of us in the queue for back up, but got none!
He asked the woman being served next to him if she minded being called Madam.
She put her head down nervously and said she wasn’t sure. She was clearly intimidated by him. So I spoke up and said “I don’t like being called Madam either but it’s not about what I like. The lady has asked you politely not to call her that, because she doesn’t like it!”
He scoffed “Well people in London like it!”
A man in the queue then piped up “This isn’t London!”
He clearly didn’t like that even a man hadn’t backed him up and continued to complain loudly as he left the post office.
In his review, I’m guessing I’m the staff members Yorkshire friend who’s living in the dark ages! 🤣 I’m not her friend, I’m a customer. I couldn’t even tell you what her name is!

That is what happened, word for word, not the fibs he put in his reviews. What I hate more than a misogynist, entitled person, who can’t just apologise gracefully, is a liar.
But to be honest, his reviews show him for what he is, by all the vile names he calls the member of staff. And yet he says she’s the uncivilised, uncultured one?!! 😳

I would just like to share my experience with the post office chat function! What a great idea. I have used it twice now and I can't tell you how quick and helpful it is. My questions were answered quickly and clearly. It's saved me time and effort calling into the branch to ask the same question. For reference I have asked a passport question and a vehicle tax question. Great service, thank you 👍

Went into the post office yesterday and the lady called Janet was incredibly helpful and I can’t sing her praises high enough.

Postage is quite complicated these days but Janet was very clear and incredibly helpful.

I can’t recommend this post office highly enough.

When all the other parcel delivery companies fail Royal Mail gets through on time. No lost parcels or delays or wrong addresses or “you were not at home” excuses. Why would anyone not use Malton Royal Mail office. They will even collect our parcels and mail from the door.

1 star for the PO being open - that is it!

Dreadful, dreadful PO with dark haired yorkshire woman behind counter - extremely rude, arrogant, thick and pig ignorant, not cultured and totally uncivilised.

DO NOT USE THIS PO - if you have to, DON'T call this woman 'madam', as you will get a tirade of abuse, saying "don't be rude, yorkshire people don't use the word 'madam' - which is a load of rubbish.

This woman and her yorkshire friend (who agreed with her), are clearly still living in the 'dark ages'.

As previously mentioned by another unsuspecting victims of these horrible people - use Kirby Moorside PO, it is much better.

God help anybody who has to use this PO - I feel sorry for you.

This is the worst post office I’ve ever used. Staff are so rude it’s actually quite shocking. Walked up to the counter near the door to top up my electricity key, you can only do it at that counter, and before even asking what I wanted the woman just pointed as if to say I had to go round the corner until I asked if I could do my electricity with which I was greeting with an eye roll a sigh and a stern ok. Honestly the rudest experience I’ve had in a post office! I then wanted to post something and I was made to go round to other counter even though that service is available at the one I was already at. Whenever I go in to this post office to do something you feel like you are wasting staff time and you shouldn’t be in there. You need to offer your workers some customer service training!

Extremely rude staff who work here. I actively avoid this place and only visit when absolutely desperate. I’d hold onto your parcels and take them elsewhere! Other than the post office section, it’s all tat anyway
