MLA changed my medical legal assessment multiple times because I needed a wheelchair accessible venue. I was promised that the venue I attended was wheelchair accessible and it wasn’t. The front entrance wasn’t entirely accessible, with plants in the entrance partially blocking some of the door. Then a locked door at the side so unable to widen the entrance door. After getting through, there was a step. I had to get out of my wheelchair and take a few steps while my mum/carer took my chair over the step, I was in tears and in excruciating pain. After that, I saw the massive step to get into the assessment room, it was so big I couldn’t get my wheelchair up into the assessment room, resulting in me having to walk. I was in absolute tears and excruciating pain. I didn’t even receive an apology. They were lucky I wasn’t paralysed.
Then in my assessment, I spent probably about 5-6 minutes with the Doctor and that was it. I feel he didn’t listen, especially about the emergency surgery I had to have as a result of my car accident.
I left feeling very upset, humiliated, angry, stressed and let down. I was in tears all the way home.

He hardly examined me and my mother and didn’t really ask us any relevant questions, just what we had already put down on the paperwork that was in front of him. All he got us to do was stand up and bend over to touch our toes and said “yeah that’s fine” even tho all of my pain is my upper back and my neck

I wasn't impressed at all with the whole setup. The doctor didn't listen, made incorrect assumptions and made me feel terrible. I joined my autistic daughter in her session and he made us both feel the same. He didn't examine us, ask us about any symptoms, any affect on our lives. My injuries had impacted a holiday we had just 5 days after the accident. He didn't even ask about that or what impact the injuries were having on my day to day life. I have a hobby that has been massively impacted which I noted on the form and he didn't ask any questions about. He made me feel very awkward and also my daughter. There were loads of people waiting to be seen and I got the Impression he was just trying to get to the end of them.

My appointment was given , reminders were texted which is very good , as my memory is now affected . My appointment was with Dr Hussain , I cannot fault him ? He was brilliant , I was made feel at ease by the professional , I felt he covered things well . I’m hoping so . I broke down a few times and he was very empathetic when needed . Overall satisfied with their service . Thank you

The assessment was thorough, with clear questioning to establish my current state of physical health. The appointment unfortunately started late and I was interrupted a couple of times. But overall the experience was good.
