I have had the most horrific experience with molesworths solicitors in Rochdale and want to warn any clients and future clients to be extremely careful when taking your business to them.
In 2004 I 2ent to them for advice regarding a concerning matter relating to my property , our family home. I was advised to put a Deed of Trust in place which I did costing £450. This was to be registered with the Land Registry as the document states. The property could not be sold without my consent I trusted them with my personal affairs.
In 2006 our family home was sold by my Mother, my consent was NEVER sought. She then stole the equity and £40,000 worth of contents was shared out with family and friends and nobody had any room to store anything for me.
This is exactly why I went to molesworths for advice, how did this happen?
In 2008 I contacted Molesworths and requested a copy of the Deed of Trust I paid cash for , therefore it belonged to me. I fought them for 10yrs to get a copy, every mth I either visited there offices, wrote or rang. Each time I was informed by reception that there was an outstanding invoice, I requested a copy of any invoice that I was happy to pay but never reviewed anything they n3ver bothered to respond to any letters. I was told out and out lies, one solicitor told me he had taken my case to a Judge for advice who informed him my Mother had no assets and all I could expect was £10 per month. He also told him to tell me did I really want £10 per month off the person who did this to me. How did any Judge know anything about my Mother and her assets ?
In 2018 I wrote and informed them I was going to the papers with this total horror story. A few weeks later I was handed the Deed of Trust in an empty office by head of private clients and then shown the door with no explanations at all.
I am still fighting for some answers, they have failed to respond to my formal complaint by law I had to allow them 8wks to respond. Due to illness caused by Molesworths I was unable to get back to it till a few weeks ago and sent an email which they have also ignored.
The Deed of Trust was NEVER registered with the Land Registry and I have all the documents to prove this. They have an awful lot to hide, how dare they think they can treat me this way. My son's lost there family home and are totally devastated we were so happy there and no reason for me to sell. I had just spent £15,000 on a full attic conversion and staircase. My sons no longer want anything to do with me because of this, I did my best to stop this from happening.
Am I being unreasonable in wanting to be compensated for my losses due to Molesworths deception and fraud.
That is exactly what this is there conned me and took the £450 quick enough.
I wouldn't want anyone else and there family to go through what my son's and myself have been through because of there deception and greed for money. I will just say before I finish to be very careful when asking for advice and services. I won't be the only person this has happened to and I intend to find them by going to the papers and hopefully they will come forward.
I have just seen other reviews it seems I am NOT the only one, have read unreliable untrustworthy do not do as they should with clients business.
I will continue my fight for answers and for my slns to be compensated for the horrific emotional distress and devestation caused by Molesworths solicitors.

Just used MBC to update our Wills and have also instructed the firm to do the conveyance on our house sale.
We have found all the staff helpful and pleasant to deal with. Also we found appointments easy to book without much wait, important when leading busy lives. For people living in Rochdale and surrounding areas, its very well placed with lots of parking. Highly recommended.

Only posted 1 star because 0 stars is not available. Do not deal with these lawyers. They are unreliable, untrustworthy and borderline criminal. Paul Dixon (Partner) is not deserving of office as a solicitor. His behaviours towards me were unacceptable by any standards. They do not keep their word or complete tasks asked of them. They ignore correspondance. If they do respond, they do so in an aggressive, unprofessional, obtructive manner. Simply terrible!

Abysmal. Really pains me to write this review, because previously my experiences with Molesworth were very helpful and pleasant, but now I feel compelled to write this due to the stress and inconvenience that has been caused to my family.

I had an appointment with one of the solicitors back in mid 2018, which was pleasant and helpful etc. But what followed was 9 months of absolute silence from my solicitor. I pursued him with e-mails and a phone call in order to:

1) pay him the money I owed him from our meeting (£120), because I don't like owing people money;

2) to seek his services for future legal representation.

I emailed him multiple times and got no response, and finally phoned the reception about the above two points. The receptionist then spoke to him whilst I was on the other end of the phone and came back to me confirming that he had received my emails and would be contacting me soon.

9 months after our initial appointment and 7 months after that phone call with the receptionist, the solicitor sends me an email out of the blue saying that he never received my previous emails and that I have 3 days to pay the money I owe him!

Very unprofessional and downright cheeky to say the least.

I delayed my family legal matter for two months due to believing our business was not done and that he would be contacting me. This abysmal and shockingly unprofessional lack of communication has stressed out my family and left a very bad taste in my mouth after dealing with this company.

After all the hassle, I would expect Molesworth to at the very least knock off and refund the £120 I wasted on them, unless they value their customers so little that they are satisfied with losing one for life that is.

Having recently been diagnosed with breast cancer I felt it was important to get my affairs in order, especially my Power of Attorney. Lisa Davies went above and beyond the call of duty to help me in my hour of need. At all times Lisa was very organised and professional, she understood the urgency of getting my affairs in order prior to chemo starting, and not only provided excellent documentation and explained everything thoroughly and clearly, but she also showed great compassion in my hour of need. Made to feel like i was wasting their time and shouldn't be calling. Grumpy, unprofessional and very hard to talk to, just kept talking over me. Seriously you guys aren't the only solicitors in Manchester 😂 You just lost business.
Reply-I rang your office in Rochdale (Greater Manchester) Not many solicitors in Rochdale but I found one in Manchester. Also you don't have my telephone number so how can you check to see if I called? I used the name Ted and I spoke with Peter, unfortunately.
I wasn't going to leave a review but having spent a couple of hours with a very helpful solicitor, I feel just from the initial call that from my experience it fell way below par. Made to feel like everything I said wasn't really anything worthy of his time.
