These so called solicitors cost us a house move. The people we were purchasing a house from used this dodgy company as their solicitors as per recommendation from their estate agents. At critical moments this joke of a law firm was never responding, the main point of contact changed about 15 times. No one was willing to take any accountability, all the "solicitors" were simply incompetent. After waiting for over 6 months with little to no progress we had to withdraw from the process and pay all the associated abortion fees on our side as we simply could not wait any longer. Absolutely shocking service, never experienced incompetence like this! Avoid this lot at all costs!

Open Law solicitors are working on behalf of the people buying my house. We have no chain either end and, at 6 months in, we are still faced with delays. They don’t answer emails or phone calls and you can expect to not receive any response for a month. I have had to communicate with the buyers through the estate agent as we have had no response from these people. I feel like just calling it quits and putting the house back on the market. Do not use these people if you need work to get done.

Openlaw were recommended to us by a well known local estate agent we therefore thought we would have a good service from them, how wrong could we have been.
The sale of our house was not the easiest sale I will admit as there was an historic issue regarding permission to extend the property not having been presented to the lease holders by the previous owners, this is where it showed up that Open law could not and did not know how to deal with the situation and we're it not for my estate agent Martin Thornton taking control of the issue and going an extra ten mile I am sure the sale would have fallen through.
Not all the team I was dealing with were poor in there attitude to a paying customer but after a call one Friday I wished to speak quite urgently to their team leader I was told everyone was very busy closing out sales I asked for a call back non came, I rang back a number of hours lwas told that the team leaders were out to lunch and was told I would get a call back when they came back into the office, not a problem we all need to eat.
Having waited another 2 hours I called again this time I got the team leader who told me in no uncertain terms that they were very busy and had not even had time for their lunch!!!!
After this statement I asked who was telling stories her or her colleague who told me in an earlier call this question then led to me being accused of raising my voice shouting and being abusive to her which I didn't and fortunately the calls are recorded so if the owner of the firm wishes to go and listen he may be aware of who he has leading his teams.
There are a list of other things such as
Charging for services talked about but not used.
Updates not given etc.

Since having all the issues I have read the reviews and wished I had done it before signing up with open law I would not have used them

I have them a one star as they did complete the sale in the end

I recently drafted and completed my first will, taking advantage of the Will Aid scheme which runs through November. Andrew was helpful and got it all written up within an hour. Great to have somewhere local involved in such a meaningful charity effort!

Open Law have been incredible with our house move. Our Solicitor was Chloe Flynn and she was fantastic.
The moving process was extremely stressful and definitely not a smooth ride. However Chloe did her best throughout to keep us updated and everyone else in the chain. She was professional, contactable and reliable at all times. We are so thankful for the service Chloe and Open Law provided. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely shocking service.

I was recommended using Open Law by a reputable estate agent selling my property.

If you want to be kept up to date on the progress of your house sale & house purchase & you want to feel that you are receiving a good service, then I would suggest you decide on a different firm.

Communication: Poor
Emails: Not responded to
Telephones: Not answered
Reassurance: None

I was told by one of the team that the director of the company who was managing the sales/purchase was ‘a very busy lady. She has children and a business to run!!’ I was also over charged for something which I appreciate can happen and when I questioned a refund, I was told ‘it depends how much you want the money back babes!’

Utterly unprofessional.

Such a shame and made an already stressful experience even more stressful.

Open Law were brilliant from start to finish. I've had my experiences with solicitors in the past but Open Law are by far the best I have ever used. Constantly kept us up to date and replied to enquiries promptly. I will definitely be using their services in future if and when needed. Special thanks to Hollie for being our main contact too, you have been a star throughout!
