One of the only places doing evening food when we visited out of season. But it was great albeit a little expensive. My wife had fish and chips while I had a rack of ribs. All was perfectly cooked and presented. They had some unusual and excellent sauce sachets: quite large and easy to open, unlike most. The dining room was a bit stark but comfortable and we were the only people in there. We would have preferred to be less formal perhaps and eat in the bar, but a good overall experience.

Fantastic food!! Really friendly stuff. During our holiday we had 4 meals there, including the best carvery we had in years. Generous portions, great flavor, honest prices. Good choices for vegetarian and gluten free people. Recommend this place with no doubt. Will be back next year ! Thank you for much for great experience.

Visited for a pint in the afternoon first. We're a couple with a dog. Really friendly staff and locals in the bar. The lady behind the bar was hysterical! Then we visited for an evening meal. Steak and beer and red wine pie. Absolutely amazing food, great portion size, lovely dining area. The building is really interesting and the bar is full of character. Highly recommend.

We are holidaying in Coombe Martin and to try the Pack o Cards for Sunday lunch
What a lovely quirky place it turned out to be. First of like most of my reviews it is a very dog friendly place. The Sunday food is a carvery as a veggie I am always interested what is available to me. I had a choice but roast or veggie bake. The food was beautiful
The staff were very attentive. The place was buzzing with people we had booked our table the day before: glad we did. Hubby loves his real ale and was impressed with the standard of the bar clean and gleaming were the words he used. It shows that the place is well cared for. I thoroughly recommend this place

Came here for a Sunday roast while staying locally. At the time of writing it was £17.95. There were 3 meats to choose from. It was a carvery but unusually the servers asked you what you wanted meat wise and also what vegetables and added it to your plate. Instead of you adding your veg to you plate yourself. Do not be put off as I couldn't have or even wanted more on my plate. It was a massive portion unless you really wanted to eat like a pig. My stand out mention is that is was Belly pork with the most amazing cracking !! A 10/10 for this as it was so tasty and tender. The beef was also nice. Good selection of veggies including leeks and lovely cauliflower cheese. One of the best Sunday roasts I have had for a long while. It was busy and I recommend you book even out of season, which is a testament to it's popularity. Only a short drive from combe Martin beach. You could walk it but after a full belly after I would not want to walk back to the beach even if it is down hill

We arrived late on Sunday and didn’t have a reservation, the waitress explained how busy they were but said she would try and fit us in. We were so pleased she did, what a meal! I honestly couldn’t fault it, the veg was well cooked, varied and plentiful. Three different types of potatoes to choose, the roasties were the best and then the meat… I had a bit of everything and it was fantastic. I would highly recommend visiting for the Sunday carvery but make a reservation so you don’t miss out!

Large family lunch. 22 of us popped in without a reservation for lunch. Good food and service as well as a good selection of beer. Think it was our first visit since '79. Hopefully we won't leave it as long next time 🙂
