Education and change are key to addressing environmental impact of service decision making in Unitary Authority of Peterborough.
That applies to the Executive and cabinet. A recognition of 'climate crisis' is a start. Now organisations need to 'educate' crucially SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT. As an ENVIRONMENT DESIGNATED CITY surely implementation and regulation of 'clean' affordable and reliable public transportation should be prioritised. Yet Peterborough City centre is a virtual CAR PARK . Cabinet members do not seem able to correlate between development and infrastructure. Property at Fletton Keys is marketed as 8 minutes drive from the rail station. Why not the alternative WALK or ride a bike. The day we witness Gillian Beasley and Marco Ceres team on a tandem riding from Fletton Keys to the Town Hall is the day residents will acknowledge a 'start' to recognising a positive stance on 'climate change' - at least the leader of the Council walks in the City.
Do key employees think the people of Peterborough are not worthy of POSITIVE role models. Educational attainment is improving the City is becoming more diverse and citizens recognise the need for change in the higher echelons and that includes diversity and commitment to ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE in the Cabinet. PECT surely must be instrumental in getting the vital message to those who have been in CONTROL overseeing water splurts at great expense in the City Centre. How is that proof of conservation of a precious commodity? WATER!!! Is that why public toilets (environmentally sustainable ones) don't exist!!!!
