AVOID!! Due to a late filing of our dormant company which was the responsibility of Philip Barnes we received a penalty. Josh/Jo from Philip Barnes agreed to settle the penalty. They didn’t and the penalty is now increased £475. So not only were they late but they also didn’t pay the penalty. We’re a very small business which has been massively impacted not only financially but has also caused mental strain due to their incompetence. AVOID this accounting company and pick another company that cares about small local businesses.

I went for advice on Capital Gains Tax and saw Edward Brooks. After discussion he was of the opinion I would not have to pay CGT on my house sale. He said he would call me when he had checked with another specialist.
He has not called after 4 days.
I have since consulted a different company and have also done my own research. I will be liable for CGT and do not understand why Philip Barnes was unable to provide accurate advice, nor why I received no further contact from them.
