Poole Alcock were excellent from start to finish when my partner and I purchased our first home - completion Sept 2023.

They clearly explained their fees (which were fixed and very reasonable), responded to any queries immediately, chased up the seller's solicitor quickly and we're always available to help us through the many first time buyer questions (and nerves).

As a first time buyer I cannot believe how easy they made the whole thing for us - they were always ready to go with the next part of the process, friendly and professional, and reassured us every step of the way. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Some serious communication issues at this firm running far too many cases without the capacity to interact properly with their clients.
I think this probably goes hand in hand with the general need for reform in the way housing conveyancing is undertaken and how in the dark clients are kept about the progress of house moves.
I feel the issues at Poole Alcock start from the Partner level where they don’t have the time nor the inclination to guide their teams properly.
Only after kicking up a serious fuss did we get treated like real customers. Before that, I think they forgot that we were the ones paying for a service and should be treated as such.
Please take caution if using these guys and if you do so, set out a plan for regular communication ahead of committing to their services.

Poole Alcock were good overall, but I do think they could have been better. They must have seen issues with bank transfers with large sums of money with other customers. They could have pre-warned us so we could have taken action beforehand to ensure the bank would transfer the money.

Lili-Mai and her team, namely - Amy, Amelia, Gill, Daisy and Katie have helped us through a lengthy house sale which really shouldn’t have been. They were amazing. Kept on top of both my buyers solicitors and our onward purchase solicitors. It’s been frustrating and stressful but they kept us informed. It’s just a shame the other solicitors in the chain weren’t as good as ours.

Even with all the calls we made to them they remained polite, friendly, professional, keeping us sane when it really was a horrendous time. Said to ring whenever we needed to even if it was a rant which we did at times but they understood our frustrations. I would use these guys again and they deserve the 5* rating.

Hopefully we won’t be on the move any time soon but if we did they would be the 1st people we would call as they were great. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us we really appreciate all the help, advice, support and guidance over the past 7 months
