Emailed him about getting a document notarised and what documents I would need to bring with me to do so. I mentioned I was a Norwegian resident and that usually I don't have to pay a VAT for notary services. Got a fairly rude response which baffled me. Instead of politely saying no I charge VAT on all my services, these are the things you need to bring with you etc. I got a "no I don't work weekends. No you have to pay VAT" without any more context or next steps. Giving me very rude vibes I decided to pass on his services. His response was that I was clearly trying to commit fraud and a criminal offence by trying to avoid VAT. Absolutely ridiculous. No professionalism or politeness. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

An appointment was arranged and confirmed in an email by the notary for 12.00 on Friday 2 July. I arrived to find no-one at the address. No-one answered the telephone. The notary didn't answer his mobile. He was not contactable. I called several times but there was no answer. I waited for an hour although I had no means of knowing whether he would in fact arrive. He finally arrived at 1.00. When I pointed out that we had an appointment scheduled for 12.00, he very rudely informed me that I was incorrect. He told me he had rescheduled the appointment on Thursday 1 July and had done so by sending a text to my wife. No such text was in fact received and he had failed to make any attempt to confirm with me that I would be able to rearrange my own appointments with less than 24 hours notice. He offered no apology. I found his manner and attitude unprofessional and disrespectful. I would not recommend him for his services.
