Apart from lockdown, our family have stayed here at least twice a year, every year since October 2010! I think that says everything! Jackie and John work incredibly hard and it shows. Everything is clean and comfortable, the views are stunning, they provide facilities for children such as swings and a slide, and it's so peaceful. They are constantly adding extras, they now have hot tubs for hire and EV chargers. It's easy to walk down to Sandsend (although it's a steep walk back up!) and about a 10 minute drive into Whitby.

Quaint & peaceful 7 unit holiday cottages located just West of Whitby. Well maintained offering excellent facilities for singles, couples & families alike. A lovely spot with good parking & EV charging.

Absolutely superb accommodation (we’ve just stayed in Harness House) with really breathtaking views of Whitby Abbey in the distance and the coast. One of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed! Spotless from top to bottom and that’s saying something given the double height rooms throughout. The underfloor heating everywhere means that the house is always very warm and cosy and comfortable. It’s finished to an excellent standard with real care and attention paid to the small details. The furnishings are all really comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. |It’s also really quiet and peaceful which was great. |The service provided by the owners was fantastic - they were very welcoming and efficient. They certainly know what they’re doing. |I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again and would certainly recommend!

We have been coming and staying here at these cottages for six years now and it’s absolutely beautiful. We stayed in Harness house for five nights over the October half term and Jackie is such a great host. On arrival everything was spotless and there is even chocolates and Prosecco on the table. Everything is provided such as tea, coffee and sugar for your stay and there is even milk in the fridge! The beach is amazing and is only a short walk down the hill and Whitby is five minutes in a car. The local pub is nice and cosy with two cafes opposite as well as a fish and chip shop. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked for next year and looking to book a summer holiday too.

Unfortunately cows kept on a public footpath, pretty thoughtless given how dangerous they can be with calves.

This was our fourth visit to Sandsend Bay Cottages. We have stayed here as a couple and in the last three years with our son. ||Since having our son, our personal favourite cottage is Harness House. This has beautiful sea views from the living room and the door opens out onto the garden / play area as well as having access to the lovely courtyard. ||Outside of the cottage is a seating / dining area to make the most of the views. ||The cottages are always spotlessly clean and so well equipped including washing machine and washing line - essentially when travelling with little ones I find! ||The views out to sea from the garden area are absolutely stunning and you can see across to Whitby Abbey. ||There is a separate car parking area, but plenty of space to park outside the cottages to unpack etc. ||We had lovely food and the fish and chip shop by the beach and at The White Hart Inn. ||Jackie and John are amazing hosts who couldn't be more helpful.

So glad we found these cottages. Great service from booking to end of holiday. Clean and well presented, with lovely goodies on arrival. ||Position of the cottages are ideal with great views across Sandsend also to Whitby Abbey. They are surrounding a lovely internal courtyard, that was a perfect sun trap in the afternoons. ||Plenty to see and do in the area - will definitely be back. ||When reading the guest book you can see many more return visitors, which is always a good recommendation.

Ideal location…5 mins walk to Sandsend cafe and beach! Very comfortable cosy cottage with ample facilities. The bottle of Prosecco and chocs was a nice touch. Thank you John and Jackie for our wonderful stay… we’ll be definitely be booking again!
