What an impressive building. Build 1826-28, one of twelve Cornish churches built following the Battle of Waterloo with money from the Church Building Commissioners. Vast in size, and could it seat 1500?. Declared unsafe in 1956, and the roof demolished in the late 1980s. Now however there is new life in the building with the St Day Old Church Community Interest Company - do see their website.

The old church with its whole roof missing, The roof timbers were attacked by beetles, I was told. What a great church building it must have been. The walls and window frames look very sound.
Events are held here occasionally I believe, so it's great to see the old church has its uses still. Other times, there is no access to the interior

Church was abandoned in 1950s. Large building with huge graveyard. The roof has gone. The lower windows are re blocked, and doors locked, so we could not enter. A little disappointing.
